How is the audio quality? any noticeable difference or lag?

No issue with quality, drove to work with my normal DAB station & worked fine.

Can I ask the benefit of this? You still have to use the USB port in your car for this to work.. all it does is remove the cable from your phone but doesn't free up your USB port for music you have on a usb stick.

??? That's a serious edge case if you have music on your phone or streaming over LTE.

I’ve had mine now for 3 weeks, it was a simple setup & works great, connects every time I start the car, I love not having to use a cable to access Apple CarPlay.

You shouldn’t be disappointed.
FYI, it even has a USB Port in rear of the dongle so if needed & you don’t have wireless charging you can still plug your phone in to charge it.

did a little more digging and you ordered the CARLINK module however you received a Garlink Module and I am thinking the there is a bunch of copied all over Ebay and Amazon and we might be able to get a cheaper module than the $100 ones since they are copied.

anyone wants to chime in ?

ps: if it works, it works right however if we can save some $$$ , why not.

The catch with those cheap ones is that they require you to copy an apk file to the cars head unit. Not something we can do yet on the Stinger.

the one from Amazon says the same thing but @Stinger GT SS never mentioned anything about downloading something ... hence why I wonder which one does what then ...



the one on Ebay is the exact same one from Amazon with CARLINKIT and on the actual devise it says GARLINKIT

Yep. Both of those require you to install software on your cars head unit. They won’t work.

The one I purchased is for CarPlay & you must get the new 2.0 version as per this link.

There is no software download required for this unit.
The ones you have posted/shown are for Android so there would be differences in functionality, of which I cannot comment on.
I did a google search for “Garlinkit” & nothing only Carlinkit, I just think this is just an example of the logo which a poor choice of font During translation & being printed incorrectly.

The 2.0 version I have works great & I trust someone can confirm a functioning unit for Android to work with the Stinger same as this CarPlay unit.

Just to add, when I ordered this unit the seller contacted me through Amazon to confirm my vehicle & if I had CarPlay, once I did this their response was “OK”.
Maybe someone should email Carlinkit & ask for the appropriate Android unit to suit the Stinger.

I just ordered the Carlinkit 2.0 for my 2019 GT2 AWD Stinger - It's $149 on Amazon, but Amazon currently has a $20 off coupon on this device so I bought it. I'm anxious to try it out. I will reply once I have had a chance to connect and use the device with feedback and my experience (I also just ordered the latest map update, which includes enhancements to various features with maps and CarPlay).

Too bad Kia did not just add wireless CarPlay to the Kia Stingers. Grrr.
