What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Car went in for its 40K service today where they’ve detected a leaky input shaft seal on the transmission. It’s only a small leak apparently and it’s a warranty job so that’s ok but they reckon they’ll need the car for 3-4 days which is a bit of a bummer. Anyone else had this problem? I can‘t recall this being a common problem.

Finally got around to removing the emblem my dealer put on the rear of the car. Removal went easy, however I noticed that the car looks like the dealer emblem was "pressed into" the paint, creating an embossed effect. So not an etching or scratch, but I can see and feel the entire upper-half of an "R" for example. Good thing is I can only notice it at certain angles and only at certain distances, but knowing its there bothers me.

Not sure if reaching out to the dealership / KIA about that will be useful since it obviously didn't come from the factory with that defect, but I'll eventually have to get it fixed.

The dealer emblem part you feel may just be leftover adhesive, try a good clean with adhesive remover and maybe a light polishing hopefully that will get rid of it for you

I bought some compound and polish that I may try as I do see a little adhesive left but this actually looks indented. I'll see if I can post a picture later when I get back home in case someone has any suggestions as I'm far from an expert and could be wrong.

I can only agree with you that it's not common; in fact you're the only one I recall mentioning this.

It's that they clear coated over the badge on the car. I have the same thing.

Banging my head on what to do with my air pump of a headlight... Had it taken apart and looked at. Made less noise and then when I tried to move the box it started making the same air pump noise as before. On a side note both bulb units have fans, and no that is not where the noise is coming from. However if you hear a fan type of noise with the lights in then it's normal. Probably the first guy here to take apart the headlight lol IMG_20200617_204406_01.jpgIMG_20200616_104448_01.jpg

Very interesting, helps explain why they're so expensive.

Air pump? I never would have guessed!... I would have thought everything would have been electronic... or is it just making the noise of an air pump? post up a vid so we can all play car noise detective

Hmmmm is it a worm gear skipping? Maybe the gear has slipped down (or up) on the shaft a bit?
Hard to tell from the video

could be the adjuster is shorting or not getting input from the suspension sensor(s). most LED headlights have fans to cool them off. The stinger ones are pretty silent, but my wife's Mazda CX-9 you can definitely hear them with the car off and the lights on.

Well, today I installed the Windbooster throttle controller. It doesn't make you go any faster, but it feels like it! I also practiced my J-turn in an empty lot. Waiting on a OCC and fumoto valve before I attempt my first oil change at ~2500
