• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hello everyone, first post here!

I am so close to pulling the trigger on this. I've been offered a new 2020 GT Limited for $49600, which is what I'm told is $500 over invoice. Also, this month is Don't pay for four months and 0.99% or 1.99% financing.

Sounds good, but is it good enough considering the buying climate at the moment?

Anyone else online shopping for a Stinger during this time?

For sure deals can be had in the near future, but I feel like I have to/want to move now because of a few reasons:

1) This deal effectively keeps my payments the same, but instead I get a better car and four months interest free to figure out my COVID-19 expenses (I'm still employed, and I'm not expecting this to change, but you never know, I guess)
2) My car, a BMW PHEV, is depreciating fast. Trading now, I could get max money for it to save tax, and while there is still favourable financing to finance the small lien I have
3) I'm sick of driving a slow car. Not the most important reason, but a good reason

Fast depreciation, and good finance rates are pretty good reasons to jump on the deal, as long as you are comfortable with your cash flow I would say go for it . Often the best time to buy is when the economy is poor. Nobody would be offering deals or discounts on new inventory if they are selling like hotcakes for full pop.

Your better of taking the 3000$ cash discount on top of what the dealer is offering with standard financing (around 3.69%) since you have a trade in. Do the calculation it will save you some more money.

Maybe it will work in some situations, but my calculator computes more interest paid with the $300 cash off/higher finance rate. I am doing 84 months, though.

Still, it doesn't hurt to ask, so I will ask my guy to price out both. I never quite get the same monthly payments as the dealer, even with the same numbers (always off by a couple of cents, a buck or two max).

Also, I seem to remember being told that regular finance rate is 2.99 in this case, so that might help out matters if true

Welcome to the forum Edders. It is a good time to buy as not many cars are selling in this climate. Can't tell you if that is a good deal or not as I come from the other side of the world. It is a fast car and you won't be disappointed if you pull the trigger on the deal.

What part of Canada are you in? You can get much better deals than 49600 out here. Plus finance through the dealerships are showing offers of 4 months of no payments.

From Toronto area. Some dealerships are selling for $47k, but that is a cash only price, no financing (which I need). I got him down to what is invoice +$50. Because of Corona, I literally had the time and contacted every Kia dealership that is advertising the Stinger in their inventory.

I gave everyone that answered back these numbers, none could beat it except this guy. FYI there were also trade-ins (yes two) to consider.

FYI, the wholesale market is all f'd up right now.

IActually, I did the math and it turns out 1.99% at +3k is better. Maybe it has something to do with my trade ins

I just went to kia dealership yesterday. I got the worse experience there. The saleman told me: "The car is way expensive for you. You can't afford it". I said: "F*ck You". Then out of the parking and went home.

After you buy your Stinger (at a different dealer of course ) go back there and park out front, and go to the sales manager and point out the idiot. Then tell the general manager or owner you won't be getting your new stinger serviced there either due to the idiot. ...his popularity will soar

I bought mine fro the same dealership I bought my Forte at. Great experience, never had an issue there. Definitely go to a different one.

That's pretty sh!tty. Even if you think that, which is fine, you can't say that to someone as a salesperson. What an idiot.

Which dealer was this? If you do buy one, you should totally call up KMA and tell them of your treatment. Go on their website and look up the guy who said that to you.

Thanks, Nasscar. Enjoying every moment. Working from home amidst our situation, but I find reasons to go for a drive.
Doesn't need to be much of a reason to drive the Stinger.

Too many stories like this about Kia dealerships. Not just here, but around the internets. These guys are trying to push their econoboxes on people trying to buy their halo car!

This here can stand to be a lesson to Kia: a premium car needs to have a similar premium buying experience.
