Brake pad deciphering

Anyone know the g loc partnumber for the rear pads? Kns doesn't ship to Canada.

I did Gyrodisc and they are real quiet.

I've read those pads are pretty loud and squeal alot, any truth to that? Price is very good though.

They're fine to me...I've run several other street/performance pads and these feel on-par with what I expect ON THE STREET (I have not done any autocross or road course on these). For context, I have used Hawk HPS, Hawk HPS 5.0, Stoptech Street, Carbotech Bobcat (what came before the 1521), Ferodo F1001 (or whatever the number was), EBC Red Stuff and EBC Yellow Stuff. I can't give you an apples-to-apples to any of those on just this vehicle but most of my past cars have been similarly heavy vehicles.

I've just done a track day with some new EBC racing pads from Yellow Stuff. Same as Impreza 2002+ so available anywhere. (Australia) Part number DP41210R
No brake fade all day, helped me take 2 seconds off my lap time.

For anyone tracking their car. I went with stoptech 309 for the fronts and they have been quiet, grippy, resist fade, and have much better pedal feel than the OEM pads. So far so good hitting over 1000°F. Didn't have the thermometer on me but the rotors were painted with 900°F operating temperature paint, which was smoking and discolored after the first rally late summer. No pulsing or any other braking issues to report with the 309s (309-10010); rear oem pads are done but they haven't caused and pulsing.
309s where about $110 cad off Amazon, pretty cheap for how they performed so far, and easy to find.

Update on stoptech 309 in cold weather. Performance is no different than in summer. I temperatures lower than 6°C, they squeal every time the car moves slowly weather it moving in rush traffic or when coming to a stop.

Squealing is normal on a high temperature pad, the range of operating temperature is still crazy on the 309.. 0°F (~18°C) to ~1200°F as far I drove it, had no issues stopping, just squealing. Haven't driven it in any colder weather like the -40°C we get where I am, because I have swapped them out for 308 which are quiet for colder weather.
These pads pretty good and cheap enough that swap them with seasonal tire change (for us in colder climates) is a feasible option. For most the 308 conpound is more than good enough but as of this last summer I started doing rallies and other events where I really punished the brakes.
I was seeing temps well over a 1000°F because the 1000°F paint I coated the rotors which actually ignited momentarily on the front rotors along the outer edge of the rotor and was smoking up near the hat, so the 309 is a must for my summer usage.

Next spring I'll try to get an actual reading with an IR thermometer on the front and rear rotors after similar events. Either the paint is falsely advertised, or the braking system on this car is too small for its weight.

Not installed yet...I have a few k left on the stock ones.
Installed the Akebono asp1001 pads and had the rotors resurfaced. The fit is very good but they lack the counter weights.
Breaks felt like new at first but I start to feel the pulsing coming back, ever so slightly, after they have warmed up. The pads don't create dust which means they don't scrub the rotor enough, hence the buildup that creates the pulsing. Looking for semi-metallics next but will give these a little more time and will report back. Running Posi Quiets in the rear...no issues with them yet.

Sounds like you need some new rotors and Girodisc Magic pads

Anybody try the front AND rear pads from KNS? Specifically the G-Loc pads...

Also, does anyone know if they're semi-metallic?

I have a set of Girodisc pads I have not installed yet. I looked at the Girodisc site and they are the same part number that is listed for Evo, Mustangs and Camaros. This would tend to make me believe this caliper is used on several cars and hence the pads work on our car too, same caliper.
Did you intall the Giro disc pads yet? I'm about to get a set but am sceptical if they will keep the rotors from pulsing like the stock or Akebono pads do?
Thanks for your reply!

Update: After a few hundred more miles yesterday the Akebonos are starting to leave deposits on the rotors and they are pulsing again, just like the stock pads do. The posi quiets in the rear are starting to squeak but I'm fine with that as long as they stay smooth.
Giro Disk pads it is...
I'll report back.

Did you perform a bedding process with the Akebonos?

I'm running the Girodisc Magic pads with newish OEM rotors (installed about 3,000 kms ago). I love them so far, only negative feedback I have is that they can squeak when wet and cold when slowly applying the brakes going down hill, but even that only happened 2 times so far.

+1 for the Giro Disc pads. I replaced my OEM pads at 7k mi when I started getting light pulsating. Bedded them with the existing rotors and no more pulsating. Have put 2K miles on them and only get slight squeaking when cold but one stop from anywhere above 40 MPH and it goes away.
