Brake pad deciphering

I think we have the Raybestos shapes worked out but they are really behind in any production. That is going to take some time.

As far as the Giro S/S - it's a strong street pad but will likely have some noise. They were good on my 2008 STI but some customers didn't like the noise.

I’m gonna get them just as a street setup. When you guys get the Raybestos I will get some too.

I will check further on both pad shapes.

Just updating on the G-Loc street pads. The wear indicator overlaps one of the pistons on the front. As a result, once the pads wear a bit, you can't easily swap out the pads without REALLY compressing the piston(s), or removing the whole caliper.

I didn't have time when I did oil change + front tire rotation + front pad inspection to do anymore. Going to have to take off the whole calipers to take them out and remove the wear indicators. Not sure if the rear pads have the indicators.

The race pads don't have indicators, so that won't be an issue, but I also haven't had a chance to even try the race pads..

Hey everyone. I have 17000 miles on my car and I recently ordered new rotors (R1 Carbon Geomet Series drilled and slotted) and front brake pads(Girodisk magic pads). I don't believe Girodisk makes rear pads for our cars yet so what would be a comparable pad for the rear? I don't plan on ever tracking the car but I do indulge in quite a few sessions of spirited driving. What have you guys replaced the rears with and do you like them? I would like them to be relatively quiet with good stopping power. I haven't had any shuddering from the rear... just vibration under heavy braking from the front so should I even change out the rears? I figured if I'm gonna install new rotors all around I might as we'll change out all the pads as well. Am I right in thinking this way or should I leave the rear pads alone?

Just the Centric Posi-Quiet pads would be fine from reading your needs. They are fine street pads and a lot of people use them on all kinds of applications to great success on the street. They will be "roughly" the same braking performance as stock and low noise/dust.

I even used them on-track and they were not the problem. The fronts are moreso the issue on these cars vs. the rears...in terms of performance.

Awesome thanks for the info! Going to order the posi-quiets. Appreciate it!
