• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hey All,

Just organised my insurance cover in preparation for pickup tomorrow afternoon. I only had to pay the difference until June 30 when my current cover expires which was about $300.

I'm insured through my bank with Alliance as the under writer. However, I was a bit surprised at unexpected extras like a $2000 additional if the car is stolen on top of the excess.

I'm a 37 year old Rating 1 driver and my yearly full comprehensive insurance will be approx. $1800 for a full year. Just curious what everyone else was finding?

I will definitely be looking around in June for a better deal.

I got mine through Woolworth's Insurance at $1100. I found cheaper down to about $800 but researched the underwriters for Woolies and it looked good.
BTW, I'm in Southwestern Sydney.

I looked on one of the 'compare the market' type apps through google and there are a lot of less expensive covers available. I also liked the look of Woollies (about $1000 where I am in Melb). You have to be real careful at the moment about excesses and whether you get inclusions. For example, RACV are making you pay more if you want a repairer of your own choice. After my wife's experience with them getting her new Jeep fixed after hitting a roo (took over four months because 'their' repairer is busy), we won't be using them. I am leasing my Stinger so I got a cover which paid out the balance of the lease or the market value whichever is greater (CGU).

Completed a quote online with AAMI, $1262 for $65,000 with an excess of $650, but will talk to customer service over the phone, AAMI has always been cheapest for me, even when i had the VL Turbo, cheaper than anyone else.

Alright fellas I'll take over now Went through the NRMA and i have house+content and two other cars so the Stinger works out at $880 a year. Now i heard something very intersting on the radio the other day, in the last couple of years Melbourne's rate of car theft is 40 to 50% greater than Sydney!!! They suspect insurance rates to rocket in Victoria. Hard to believe. These cars are never found and they suspect a major overseas export racket?? Thanks for the introduction. And yes Sydneys pricing on most things is exhorbitant.

Whoa...WTF...not easy to hear about Melbourne's rate of car theft, which as you say, sky rockets our insurance rates, do not know why Melbourne has been voted "the most liveable city", but extremely expensive, at peak Melbourne petrol prices right now reach $1.49 a litre, how much in other states ?
