Does anyone have a source for chrome exhaust tips? I know the carbon fiber tips are all the rage here, but I like to keep a stock look. Found these tips and wondering if the 63mm inlet and 105mm outlet will work.

Installed my MBRP exhaust last after already having Injen CAI and Ark secondary downpipes installed earlier last week. Setup sounds great, but have an unbearable drone at highway speeds (70-80mph) at 2000-25000rpm in sport mode. Switching to comfort mode brings the rpms down to right below 2000 and the drone becomes somewhat tolerable. Have tips waiting to be shipped from aliexpress so hoping that will help the situation a little bit.
I had unbearable drone from my Ark grip cat back I think it's the design of the car. The hatch amplifies the sound. I reduced the drone by about 60% by dynamatting the whole boot and under the rear seats. Rear seats are a breeze to remove. I also put some 6mm (1/4") dynaliner under the boot (trunk) flap this also helped. But I had vibration after up the transmission tunnel which shook the USB tray lid and arm rest. I ended up getting the exhaust modified by a specialist. It's now purrrrrrfect.

Hey guys, I just cancelled my order from aliexpress as their estimated shipping time ran out and reset itself. Who knows what’s really going on over there....Anyone know where else to turn for the oval tips? Anyone here running the exhaust sans tips and happy with the “drone”?

There's an alternative that involves wrapping your pipe with exhaust wrap to fill the gap between the pipe and factory tips.
It's should be just as effective against drone as the chinese tips.

I just took a 4.5 hour drive to jay peak VT and I can say that I am used to it now. Cruising about 70mph I was not bothered.

How you perceive it though is going to completely depend on your personal tolerance for loud vehicles. It's quite most of the time but is very loud at low rpm high load scenarios.

Thanks for the replies! I think I’ll just try without and if it is too much I’ll try the wrap method.

Reach out and let us know and we would be happy to get you setup with a discount! :)

So I'm ready to purchase the Borla exhaust and Borla CF tips with hopefully a discount. Who do I reach out to? Sales?

Had my MBRP SS installed this week with the aliexpress “Akrapovic” oval tips. I had Watson Racing remove the factory exhaust mounts and add them to the MBRP to prevent the banging sound that many of you have reported, it has an OEM look to it instead of welding a bar across at the rear.

Initial impressions: It actually seems just as quiet as the factory exhaust when just cruising along at 50 in any mode. It also didn’t seem much louder on a cold start. When the car is under load and you first accelerate it sounds amazing. If you are doing a 0-75 acceleration it tends to level out and not be as loud. The drone with the tips installed, is almost non existent, in fact it sounds a lot like the active fake exhaust sound, but real. To sum it up, the exhaust is not much louder than OEM, but has a more refined/reserved sound to it when compared to other aftermarket exhausts. Being a dad of two young kids and living in a suburb, it’s the perfect exhaust for me and exactly what I was looking for. It sounds amazing.

I’ve posted the picture elsewhere, but here it is again. This was taken before the additional mounts were added.

I saw people on Facebook talking about replacing the stock resonators with aftermarket in order to help with droning.

Any opinions on this or firsthand experiences? How about a suggestion for the part?

I have no idea what Watson Racing did or if it was the tips, but my car has almost zero drone to the point that it’s unnoticeable. I wonder if it’s vibration from the MBRP mounts that are causing it? Like stated before, Watson removed the factory mounts/bracing from my OEM exhaust and added them to the MBRP in the exact locations. The tips are the “Akrapovic” ovals from aliexpress that fit perfect.

If anyone In the area wants to go for a ride and confirm they are more than welcome.
