My quip was about inflation. Watch an old TV episode, like Rockford Files, for a blast of inflation: they make deals and rob banks and run off with "tons" of money; $100K is supposed to sound impressively, seriously big. So, this iteration of the joke is probably from the 80s.

I remember a joke here in Oz when I first got off the plane in the late 70s, I think a lot of immigrants got hit with this one. Them: " I ran over a Piecost the other day!" Me: "What's a Piecost?" Them:" About 42 cents" i remember rehearing the joke at $1, $2 . Re told now it's got to be about $4-$5?

.. ....let me check the personal rain chart I keep , up to the 12th February for the month 401.5mm . Rain predicted for at least the next 7 days. The local main Sydney Dam went from 43% to 69% . We all pretty damn happy.
