Drag/Acceleration Mods to improve ¼ mile times and unofficial track thread

As often is the case when trying to have discussions with John I feel like continuing will permanently reduce my IQ. I will say if he's able to get people to pony up $1700 in advance for a flash tune then he must be doing something right lol. Only in America.

Track opens soon for nearly everyone in the US. Some of the tuners and piggyback cars have nothing to prove, but they all have more to show. It’s going to be a good year. For all the typers who haven’t proven much yet, get your ass behind a tree, go on the last amber, and show us some slips. Or, at least show us a Dragy result of the track isn’t an easy option. But also please understand that if you have not yet put your dog in the race, it’s hard for any of us to give your comments much interest.

This gentleman Tork reminds me of a gentleman I dealt with in the C6 community...chuck cow. The similarities are uncanny.
We had a geat guy named Lew from diablo who bent over backwards for quick, complete tune service in the community with email tunes to his hand held device.
Then we had the boisterous and abrasive chuck cow, chuck remapped the ecu you send him, or dyno tuned at his shop. Everything he does is the best, everyone takes second place to him. His business approach was rude and arrogant....loved to disappear periodically then come back ripping everyone who questioned him.
It’s litterally a mirror image of the corvette forum but with different names lol.

Terry, is exactly like Lew from diablo....always there to take the time, never overstating his accomplishments....just a good hearted businessman.

You. I like you and the way you see people. I agree 100%

Been in sales for 30years, you can really gauge folks by how they respond when subjected to negative criticism or injected into frustrating situations. Cream always rises to the top.

tork obviously has followers based on his hard work....but he could never survive the onslaught of the customer load that Terry sees.
Tork works off shop rate and that’s a tough way to make a living, seen that my whole working life

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
So i think we are saying slow and great service vs fast and rude?
I got my pick.

Your entitled to your preference...based on your experience and degree your expectations have been met. Each customer will have varying experiences and will respond differently.

myself, I try to bring the best of me every day, I’m one of the best in my fields of work and my customer base is loyal as they come, others will accept lesser support and lesser effort and prefer other reps for themselves.
I don’t do rude...I don’t accept rude...no one should have too.

I've "self tuned" several 700 whp cars so I'll be just fine. I just hope people funding your business efforts end up with something of more value than they can get for $700 anywhere in the next 6 months

Maybe you missed the "LAP3 has had a DAMOS file for the last 3 years" comment I made, lol.

Or maybe you are not following the Dragy results close enough... hell, I don't know.

Our stock turbo car, with factory primary cats inside of it is faster than the big turbo cars in just about every category on the Dragy. Not a single non methanol injected car in the world, has been able to best our non methanol injected times both dragy, actual 1/4 mile and brake snip... both AWD and RWD applications.

So, you say next 6 months and I say... its already been 3 years. If it were so easy, then why have the Koreans no flooded this market with their tune's... or at least, taken us back to 2nd or 3rd place on Dragy.

So, I am sorry that you feel the way that you do. Not sure if its jealousy, or just pure anger. The facts do not back up what you are saying and our facts are constantly driven with results.

Would we call the one “slow?” Lol. Not all of them, surely . And the other “rude?” Maybe just wildly impassioned and brusque. lol

I don’t do rude...I don’t accept rude...no one should have too.

I am bombarded with rude everyday I enter the Stinger market.

Yes, 99% of those rude people have never had a part from us, nor have they even called our shop.

Do you know how many people come to my shop, with the expectation of being treated poorly? Then, when they are here with us they say how happy they are with the experience? I cannot count the number of times people have said, "you are a lot nicer than those people say you are online". My reply, "because none of them are actual customers".

I have had people who were extremely rude to me over this last 12 months. Made claim against me, my company and our right lies about us blowing up Stinger engines (I just had to delete 4 posts from some lunatic on my business page making those exact claims). Oddly enough, those exact people who made those claim are now asking me for a tune. So, do I man up and ignore the finical loss that those customers cost me... "water under the bridge". Or, do I make them apologize for their actions over the last 12 months?

If you don't accept rude, and do not do rude... then what would you do in my position? A person who has been rude for several months wants a tune from us... do I deny them that sale?

My work is proven to be the best (results speak louder than words) my customers service is what I feel is the best in the market. My online presence blows donkey balls. If I were to just sit there quiet, ignore all the negative comments, and ignore all the misinformation and just tell people, "your right", and "yes, you are correct" I could be that "guy" everyone likes. That is not me, and it never will be. Face value is what you get when online, and that pisses off more people than any blown engine I might have caused, lol.

“My online presence blows donkey balls.” This right here (somehow) made my night! Lol

Seeing as I arranged this gb, I'm very well versed on what it is we're getting. Two calibrations are included, stock car and full bolt on. I talk to chea from powertune everyday, and good progress is being made. Bottom line. Setting up a plug and play system for a stand alone from scratch is far more complicated then editing known tables in win old and you know that. I'm hoping for the best for you but I think your pricing is way off for the product your offering. I do have to ask though... if you can get the definitions, how long before any once else can or they are posted on the tuner trade sites or networks? Everyone will have them soon enough, and then it's a race to the bottom for price.

I have an advantage, I have a shop car... and 2 years of experience. I can go buy 40 different tunes right now off EVC's website. That doesn't mean that those tunes are going to deliver what we can deliver.

I get what you are trying to do, play down the work, effort and results we have given the Stinger community. To that I will say... results speak louder than words. We have the results, we have the shop car and you cannot dismiss or cast doubt into the community.

Honestly, what do you think is going to happen when I get these A2L files? Do you actually think we are going to somehow make the car slower? LOL!!! Bud... 11.39 in the 1/4 mile and 7.36 in the 1/8 mile are no joke!!! I did that with my own self written map index. These 12 customers that are buying my tune are not buying some cookie cutter tune from a shop that has the best price. The 12 customers are buying a tune that has been developed for the last 2 + years, with a shop that has both a RWD and AWD test cars. When everyone else gets this file (that you think is so easy to get) and starts tuning the Stinger... I still have a two year advantage on them.

Hell, you tune 700 HP cars... if it were so easy, how come you are not tuning them?

If you want to keep going back and forth and back and forth and talking about how bad my price is and how great the Motec is... sure, lets do it. In the end, my group buy filled up because customers see the facts. Those facts cannot be dismissed or explained away with your online rant. Please, spend more time proving just how great the Motec is, and quit arguing with me.

I work off a shop rate? Un, no... but you can think what you want. I am not here to convince you of anything, I am here to get the results that people ask for.

If people want to buy the JB4, good... its good to have an option in the community. Its affordable, and does things OK. It has its downfalls, and I have given up trying to explain that to people.

I am not a sales person, I have other people handle that for me. I suck at being a sales person, obviously you have noticed that. I don't respond to negative criticism because it has nothing to do with what we are doing or selling, lol.

I accept that not all people will be subject to my manners online, but I am not building a friendship or a loyalty to our brand name. I am selling a product that does what I claim it to do, that is all. If people wish to be my friend, they can DM or PM me and we can talk, lol.

All categories? I don't know what you've been smoking but 60~130 or 1/2 mile categories, not even in your wildest dreams lol.
Big turbo setups in Korea only shine at high speeds and that is what was mostly in mind when they were built.

Sorry, should have said stock turbo in those categories. I believe we hold all the fastest stock turbo records.

Ok I agree for the stock turbos. Props to you and Tim. :)

I am actually making popcorn right now, this is more drama then on tv!:rofl::rofl: I wonder how many pages of this thread is just back and forthing over and over again. Meanwhile I am here with the Pressertech "shop" stinger but it's in no shape to do any track or draggy runs. Heh, it couldn't almost get up my driveway! running in the limpest of limp modes. That's ok, once I get this hunk of metal into shape it will start hitting the strips. Not really setting any records since RWD.

One of Tork's shop cars is RWD :)

Not much more drama going to play out here tonight, I have put everyone on ignore who wishes to criticize everything I do :)

So, in other words, you're nice to people that give you money and rude to people who don't? o_O That's certainly an interesting business model.

Here's a crazy idea, what if you treated people who aren't customers well and then they *gasp* became your customer based on their positive experience with you?

"Treat them good and they will become a customer" seems like a better way to conduct business than "treat them good if they become a customer."

Just something to consider...
