Drag/Acceleration Mods to improve ¼ mile times and unofficial track thread

Getting close to 130mph! John could beat them there with his 175whp shot. :)

The WMI seems to be helping. Still haven't gotten a clean run. Wet roads again today.

Ooooh that tune is working. If only he'd put a price tag on it. Congrats! Make me wanna take mine out, I just dont wanna have to clean her back up.

New record! congrats! :)
It surely seems to help get higher trap speeds.
Soon 11.30 on a better day? :geek:
I think 11.2s dragy possible on stock turbos.
Hit an 11.46 also. Just did two runs.

If only you could get that low 1.6 60' other AWD cars have gotten!
Thats what i was thinking. 1.6 should get us deep in the 11.2s winter dragy. Today was 34 degrees wet with lots of spin. Dry 26-28 degrees sounds about right.
Didn't use the brake snip still as it doesn't help me usually.

Does the brake snip just not work for the GT2? That’s one reason I haven’t even attempted it

So I wanted to post something I learned last night at the strip that helped combat high IAT. This may have been mentioned already or most of you experienced racers may already know this, but, by running the defrost/AC while idling, I was able to drop from 188 degrees down to 113 (when I finally reached the line).

Idling seems to be a must. When using ISG, I noticed the oil temp and IAT just kept rapidly rising. Doing so with the AC on, definitely helps though.

I’ll give that a try.

It works, but the snips vary greatly. Many get 1.75 60s and a few get 1.60 60 foots. Mine is a 1.75 60 foot which is about the same as my enhanced LC. Brake snip almost always whacks out my timing so launches good then lose out later.
My snip is 2800 rpm 8 psi.
A 1.60 60 foot has 15 psi brake snip

My lc is 3.5 psi and 2500 rpm and opens throttle faster than snip, thats how it maches the 60 foot with less rpm and boost.

Tracks ask you not to run your ac since it condenses water and that drips on the track.
Plus in order to cool it makes more heat under the hood so should make things worse. But at super high 180 iats just running the car might drop temps.
Running the car bad when its cooler.
Pop the hood and turn the car off. As long as you dont have a long idle with the hood closed should hit 120-130s pretty consistent.

Here is the log for the 11.39 1/4 mile.
Mostly 20-21.7 PSI, hit 22 PSI briefly beginning of 3rd. Holding 21 PSI up to 6k RPM in 3rd, 4th and 5th. I think that is where the increased trap speed is coming from. No added Jb4 boost. Ign 2-6 almost perfect single line.
PSI is Jb4 V13, so 18-19.7 PSI equivalent for pre V13 firmware.

They ask you not to run AC because of water dripping but then have you run thru a puddle of it before you run down the track? Solid logic.

Going by the jb4 app just running the engine absolutely did not help cool it, but running the defrost/AC with heat on did....

Looks good. More boost didn't help it further? You've got plenty of room to add more meth flow too when you're ready for it.
