What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Any real advantage of these slotted rotors or is it more of a cosmetic change? Many years ago I swapped out my stock rotors on a BMW Roadster with drilled rotors. They looked better but I am not sure I could stop any quicker or if they stayed cooler. Of course, I did not track the car, so maybe there would be differences in that case.

Finally got this car I’ve been watching for years now. Say hello to my new toy!
Planning on doing my lease buy out. What’s the best mods to do first that won’t cause a fuss from the dealership while under lease? Also, what is the engine break in? I was told 1500 miles, just wanted some confirmation before I go into launch mode too early.

Congrats on the new acquisition! These are fun cars. The car manual states engine break in period is first 600 miles and to stay inbetween 2k-4k RPMs.

Finally installed an OCC. A little late at 16K miles, but better than never. Been using top tier gas and quality synthetic at about 3K intervals with mostly highway miles, so I'm hopng it's pretty clean inside.

Is there a consensus or evidence that the OCC is a valuable addition to our engines? If so, I wonder why Kia does not install them in all of our cars?

I just purchased the OEM splash guards and will have them installed Monday. Any reason why you chose the Rokblokz over OEM?

I had the OEM splash guards on my car and they were pretty small and I didn't feel they provided enough coverage from rocks and any other road debris. The area I live in there are a lot of gravel dump trucks that drop rocks all over the roads. I feel the Rokblokz provide more coverage from anything flinging into my car and damaging the paint. The paint on these cars already seems to be very fragile and easily damaged.

Install one.....Look at the crap it collects. Then look in the mirror and re ask your question. I think you will have found your answer.

Checked mine as I was switching to an add w-1 can and there was about 4 oz. of what looked like coffee. Def worth while.

Thanks, I suspected the ones you got were a little larger. Here in SoCal we do not have too many gravel roads or trucks so I guess the OEMs will be fine for me. I do want to protect the paint, however, so felt the modest investment will be worth it.

Interestingly, when I checked the installation instructions it was noted that this is not a legal mod in CA and is for use in racing cars only - meaning cars not registered for the street. I can only assume the device is not CARB approved, suggesting it adversely affects emissions. Any ideas as to why this might be? Is this something needed for modified cars more so than stock ones?

Hey guys, I’m in California and I have a piggy back tune (JB4) when I go get an oil change for the car at Kia should I remove the tune? Will it also void my warranty or will there not be any issues?

The smog technician will have to identify your vehicle as having a modified PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system. Although an oil catch is helpful to your engine's overall long term performance, the fact that the PCV system must be altered in order to install the oil catch can, will cause a smog check failure.

Can I Install an Oil Catch Can and Pass Smog?

This is silly. I've been on the road all day, soon after you posted, and now I am the first one to respond to your post? Heh.:P Welcome to the forum.

The manual says 600 miles of taking it easy. On the brakes as well as the drivetrain. It recommends keeping RPMs between 2K and 4K, and not going for long stretches at one RPM setting; just up and down in that RPM range.

Piggybacks can, of course, be removed before any warranty work, so the dealer never has to know about them. Aftermarket springs and sway bars won't void anything. I even had the dealer put my Eibach rear sway bar in.

Has your number plate got you any attention from an OFSR yet? Very creative.
I got stopped once since I put those plates on--my tabs had expired because the DOT hadn't sent me my new ones. I doubt they would have noticed had it not been for the plate catching their attention first. The officer asked me what it meant -- just to confirm her suspicions.
My previous car (Genesis Coupe) had 'HI OFCR' and there were a couple of times when the HP definitely seemed to be out to get me because of it.

I'm still having trouble with picture adjustments. On one computer, the photos look washed out so I increase the contrast, but then on my browsing computer, the adjusted photos look way too saturated. I put in one side-by-side photo--you can decide which version looks closer to Federation on your monitor.Driver Side 2 30 cropped.webp

Because of the service interval. Depending on which brand, they have to be serviced (cleaned) every couple of thousand miles which doesn't work into their maintenance schedule.
