• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

YVR Stingers

Thanks for the advice. I definitely picked a bad time to buy a performance car with UHP summer tires. I haven't even gotten to really feel the performance yet but they have performed admirably the last 2 days driving in heavy rain on highway 1 with a nearly 300kms on it. I'm definitely rushing to get a proper winter set.

Can I ask where you are storing your summer set? I don't have a garage or space inside but I've read about tire storage services. I might hit up kal tire and see what options they have for me too.

Luckily for me, I do have space in my garage to store my summer set. And yes, Kal tire, 1010 Tires or any other tire shop should have a storage facility available.

On eBay, the TPMS valves are sold separately, not in a pack. So you just have to buy 4 of them. The total for all 4 was 81USD.

Do any of you guys have winter tires? I normally run A/S year round but since I've got these nice summers now, I figured I might as well get a dedicated winter set for when the temps drop below 7degrees. While I'm asking, anyone know a good place for future ppf/ceramic coating and tinting for a quality job and reasonable price?
for Vancouver weather a really good set of Ultra High Performance AS tires work well . I Live on the North shore , have a place at Whistler and find no issues with them , you can see in my sig what I;m running , selling the OEM tires here is easy with all the BMW guys looking for tires , sold mine in 2 day on Craigslist for 1400 .

I recently got quoted $1400 for winter tires and rims, with the sensors taxes included from National Tire in Delta. I am going to get them put on in early November. Sorry I forget the exact specs. As for window tint, I went to Street Legal Tint on King George in Surrey. Yes it looks like a sketchy dive but for $350 I got all my windows tinted: front 35% and back 3 limo tint.

That would be a really good deal if you got a nice set of rims and top quality brand tires. I'm having a hard time deciding whether to stick with a dedicated winter set or go with Westcoast's advice and get performance A/S.
There is a street legal tint location in Vancouver too. They are one of the shops I'm considering. Aren't you worried about getting pulled over for front window tint? I want a place that has a good rep that can do ppf/ceramic/tinting for a packaged deal since I figured I'd save money that way instead doing it one at a time at different places.

A/S vs Winter depends on your driving habits. I don't really ever leave the city during winter with my car, so I stuck with A/S tires. Bad snow days...I'll take the train to work, so no point dropping $2k for me to get a dedicated set.

I often go out of town to Whistler and Kelowna so I figured $1400 for a dedicated set of winter tires is not too bad.

Saw a white stinger twice in Langley around the willowbrook mall area today. Not sure if it was the same car or 2 different white stingers but noticed it was a woman driving it the second time. I tried waving but she didn't notice me in my work truck. lol It's cool to see some stingers in the wild around here. This is my 3rd sighting since getting mine over a week ago, not too bad I would say.

It was closer to 4 months for me before I saw one. Sights are still few and far between.

There's a Thunder Grey Stinger that takes highway 1 in the morning that I've spotted a couple times. Anyone here?

Also spotted the 20th Anniversary Stinger a couple weeks ago on the way to Kripsy Kreme. What a beauty!

@LsquareD I drive a thunder grey but I don't use mine for work . One of the perks of having a company vehicle. Downside is I don't get to drive my stinger a lot .

Hi Sushi
For ceramic+PPF I highly recommend Tiago's Auto Spa. They're located in East Van - close to the Olympic village. They do incredible work, their ig is Tiago's Auto Spa (@tiagosautospa) • Instagram photos and videos
They do a ton of high end cars, they have a Ferrari 488 Pista in there now even. Their prices are comparable to most shops that I've seen. I don't have the money for it otherwise I would've had it done by now.

I have winters. When I bought my car last November, the KIA promotion was getting a free set of TOYO winter tires.

Hey Nexitus,

I do not know about specificity installation shops in your area but I would search yelp for Performance Shops in your area. As far as aftermarket parts go you should us out at www.k8stingerstore.com. We have one of the largest selections of products for your vehicle and I would be happy to hook you up with a discount as well if you message me.

Car performed spendidly through the snowmageddon this week even on A/S tires (although I drove all flat roads).

Mine stayed in the garage and likely will for a few more days.:(

If I had any hills to climb, I probably wouldn't drive at all. Can't trust others to be prepared nor my tires for the actual days of the storm.

Keep the car safe!

I've had zero problems getting around with snow tires on. Has it been a little deep at times? Umm yes but no problems getting anywhere.

Snowmageddon, you guys are hilarious
