Kia Stinger face lift

My wifes Hyundai had a fuel pump go bad and they gave her a 2020 Sonata SEL loaner. While not as sharpe looking as the Stinger, it is a vast improvement with the new facelift.

So the K5/Optima got an update although Kia have already said the Optima is no more for the Australian market. It appears to have all the features the Stinger should’ve had when it was released as a flagship model but didn’t. The bigger infotainment screen is something the Stinger should’ve had from day 1.

Sweet car but still prefer the hatch space in back of the Stinger as well as its exterior. Not a fan at all of the rear end continuous lights. See a few things inside also I would not like.....the dial shifter for example. Wonder if those internal passenger dash and door strip lights can be changed from red to some other color.

What if it's just a brake light bar? That could look good, without copying the Charger's continuously-on across the back taillight.

It looks like KIA is doing the full light across the back treatment on their upcoming vehicles. Based on the coverage we've seen on the front and back, they might be making some changes to the venting and lighting layout on both areas. Plus, we know they are going to give it the digital dash treatment and a large infotainment screen. I'm thinking it will also get the 2.5T and 3.5T engine upgrade and I guess that would probably mean the 8 speed DCT would be on the 2.5T, if not both vehicles. They should start producing them around March/April, so we will be finding out more soon.

Possibly. I won’t be in the market for another car for a looong time anyway (knock on wood) and who knows what things will look like by then.

I still don’t get the SUV thing, so many good cars right now, some even have more space then the small SUV’s that people are buying.

They can sell carlike SUVs for better margins than sedans. Some people like to sit higher up too, I don't get it. And you're totally right, with modern design you can have sexy hatchbacks like the Stinger that have a ton of interior volume. Give me low, sleek, and fast any day.

Note the tail lights of both cars, looks like the brake light may go full width in the next model update/release.

Having a closer look of these pictures, if you zoom up onto the rear trunk lid there also appears to be a raised section across the width of the rear lip which may suggest an integrated spoiler may have been added.

I thought that too, but if you zoom right in it is clearly a raised area & the black cover is made to fit that area.

You have a point, hopefully they add the Genesis G70 3D gauge cluster.

Just to add to this post & the spy shot of the new Stinger, especially with regards to the rear lights, this could be a good indicator of what might be, this is the new release Optima/K5.
The new Stinger tail lights may well look something like this.

White is already available on the GT2 Panthera cars in limited quantities.
