What did you pay for your Kia Stinger?

Bought Micro Stinger GT $29,300 + Taxes. MSRP $41,036. I am in Houston, TX and did balloon financing. Most of the disount came from the rebates 8,000+ and I will pay loan balance after first payment. I feel this is a solid deal and much thanks to this forum. I had no idea Stringers were being discounted so heavily! Drives just as good as my Porsche Panamera.

My 2019 GTS rwd ended up at 40k USD after rebates, taxes/fees, etc. I know the lease buyout was the best way to do it but god damn it still sounds shady and like it would bite me in the ass. If i did the lease buyout it'd be roughly 2-3k lower.

Best price I've seen on here for gt2 was 40k. Your not that far off
Trying to find that exact post. Talking to that dealer now on a white /white gt2

That’s what I paid for my white GT2. MSRP was $52250. I was looking for the light gray interior and never could find it. I have been searching for a year and emailed a dealer in S.C. that showed they had that color and the RWD. I didn’t want AWD. They confirmed that the GT2 was available and it was on the showroom floor. I texted and ask for their best price before lic. and tax plus I’m military. They came back with $40k. I made them confirm it in writing cause I was an hour away. They did and I took delivery the next day. So far 600 miles and it’s better than I expected.
A great all around, do everything vehicle and at $40k it’s steal.

Good steal! Where the discounts from the dealer or KIA? I live in Texas too and I heard that balloon financing was the way to go due to double tax on leasing. Not exactly sure how to work it out with the dealer/financer when I pick up my Stinger.

8300 were rebates and the rest was off msrp. I believe i could have got another 500-1000 off MSRP since most discount was rebate. Not all KIA delaerships offer the balloon option in Houston. My deal was with Joe Myers Kia and negotiated all online/text with Hung Pham. I am extreemly happy with purchase and changed all the badges today to Ebadge :)

8,300 were from discounts and the rest was off MSRP. I did all the negotiations over email and text. I probably could have squeezed a little more off MSRP since most discount came from rebates. I bought the car from Joe Myers Kia in Houston and not all Kia dealers offer the balloon option. Balloon option lets you qualify for all the rebates. Joe Myers still has 14 stingers on lot and trying to move them. I worked with a guy named Hung.

Just negotiate on the price of the car, then after that’s settled, say you’d like to balloon finance (if they offer it). You’ll get the lease rebates and be set with low monthly payments from either KMF or the dealers 3rd party lender of choice. Then turn around and pay it off cash, or refinance with your bank or credit union. Refinance should be fairly straight forward, as it’s just refinancing a loan already in your name, as opposed to the bank buying out a lease which is not in your name.

Ferguson Kia in Broken arrow Oklahoma.... yes it’s a pretty good drive from here, is big on doing balloon finance deals in this manner, and have pretty good pricing, so look to them if you want a dealer who can walk you through it.

Hi-Chroma Red Stinger GT 43k sticker got it for 34K + taxes. Probably could have pushed it a little lower but they offered me an extra 2K on my trade in.

I believe it. I got an offer, coincidentally also cap with a cap cost of 37.9K on a GT2 AWD w 54.5K MSRP. OTD was 39.7K.

I wanted to more aggressive that what I got, so I'm still shopping around. 35K cap cost feels like a possibility though not a lot of dealers are biting on it. I'd gotten several offers if 37K was my goal.[/

Is that a 2020 model? Is your OTD price including all taxes etc?

That’s a crazy discount!

I’m looking at a 2020 ceramic GT2 AWD, their offer is 10,700 lease cash off same MSRP.

37 is my goal.... where were these offers?

You guys must be talking about 2019 models, right?

they’re only offering me $10,700 lease cash off MSRP for the 2020 GT2AWD here in Orange County area

I would think the 2020 has some refinement over the 2019 in terms of rattles etc? But maybe not?

Rattles are not year-dependent. 2020 could certainly have rattle issues too, who knows. My 2019 has absolutely zero rattles (only rattle I hear is the sunglasses in the sunglass box)

You might want to have them clarify the 10,700 lease cash because that sounds pretty close to what a 2019 should be getting. 2020 should be maybe 8,000 max with a 24/10 lease in California. I say clarify because either they're getting the model years mixed up or they're adding in dealer discount of 2-3K which is pretty poor overall (although pretty good I guess for a pretty new model year)

The salesman is brand new, had no clue about the car or really anything, he's just along for the ride, but it was the finance guy or whomever the sales guy's boss was, who sat down and was explaining this lease to me. I just want to know how much I am paying in total after all the lease nonsense.

If you ask for a lease sheet you could prob share it here and we can tell you.

PS: Did you happen to go to Car Pros HB or Kia of Irvine?

So dealer is saying that California taxes any cash back rebate over $10,000

Not surprising, I know Maryland considered incentive cash back taxable. Usually the only thing not taxed seems to be whatever you negotiate off MSRP. So negotiate them to knock off at least 10% on MSRP (this amount won't be taxable), then tell the dealer to apply any cash back incentives. Usually when you are being given "free" money, in a lot of situations, it is considered taxable.

+1 to NIU. Also, pretty sure it should be that any rebate amount is taxable in California. Anyway, that taxed amount can be paid at signing, or you can roll it up into your lease when you say "$0 due at signing" (which would drive up your lease monthly payment).
