Has anyone seen any Stingers in the wild?

Thanks Dave , But I'm a Canuck , and I've got a GT and a Sorento so I'm good ..................I held court discussing the car with several folks . I hope I sold one for you , there was a real American Car gearhead guy there that was blown away when I told him about youtube vids showing the GT beating Vettes , Mustang Gts etc .............we are all having fun with these cars !!
I just worked the Portland Auto Show and it was a blast telling people about the Stinger. It was even better when people came up to me to ask/talk about the Stinger because they saw my Kia name badge. My only gripe is they didn't have one to take people for rides in!

Thanks!

Well, except for the CD player.

But I liked this photo to show that I do have a "type"--I see a lot of similarities between them. And of course the MAJOR differences!

I'm not sure my friends--mostly "elderly"--will agree that this car makes me a "better" driver after I press them back into their seats, but I agree with you that it will improve my (already sterling) driving abilities. I just may cause a few heart palpitations among the geriatric set, however.

It's a bit tacky, but you can buy a CD/DVD player for $19 and stick it in the USB port.

And you don't say how old you are, but I was a Viet Nam vet and retired for several years since 2009. Never grow up!

Besides owning the Stinger, I have yet to see another one in my area besides the ones at dealerships. I am in the Kent/Fedway area of WA. Anyone seeing them around in their respective areas?

I am always on the lookout trying to find them...mainly because they are so nice to look at...lol
They seem to be selling pretty well up here in the Puget Sound region, but have not seen one yet that didn't have the little blue bumpers on the doors signifying a test drive. However when we took our test drive onto the freeway, we instantly got clocked by a late model Mustang gt and a Mercedes AMG CLA. They both were buzzing around us, wanting to get looks from differing angles. You'd think my wife was driving topless from the attention this car was getting! :) Should be interesting once we actually take delivery and get to drive it around!

None on the road in the MidWest that I've seen. There are a few on dealer showfloors, but most of them seem to be GT2's and this isn't rich country. I didn't think the GT2 was worth $5,000 more than the GT1 so I had to order my GT1. Prices seem to be coming down because the GT2's aren't apparently selling here. I got my GT1 for $1,000 off MSRP and a fair trade-in offer.

We are the opposite down here, all the sales are for the gt2, next to none for the entry level models. Economically we are not a poor country but here if you have a pulse youll get a car loan

They did that with mortgages in America not long ago...

I’ve had mine since 12/12 and put close to 3k miles on it and still have not seen another on the road. I also drive all over the state NJ that is while at work too.

Saw my first fellow Stinger in Gainesville, Virginia this afternoon at a Lowes. Micro Blue Stinger Premium...I believe.

Was not me, my babe is at the dealership getting a remote start & the rattle recall done. But I am in that area everyday. :)

My wife spotted in the parking lot and said "I wonder if that Luminary!" lol

I heard the rattle for the first time today while heading over to Home Goods. I'll have to call up Kia to get that fixed. Is it a published recall?

Yes it is a published recall. Ourisman KIA Chantilly is doing mine, and Scott in the Service Dept said they just got in 500 kits to do the recalls with.

That number has to be wrong. o_O There's no way they'd sell 500 Stingers in this area before the factory would simply update the assembly line parts. Regardless, glad to know the parts backlog is apparently clearing up.

I'm sure (I hope?) he was exaggerating just a bit. I was just happy to hear they had the kits in and it could get done during the remote start install. :)

Nice you and I got the car the same day! But you definitely put more miles on. I got 1600 miles on the clock so far.

Were are you having a rattle? If it is not a recall others who have not experianced it may call to see if it is a service campaign. As I described in another thread service campaigns (sc) are things that they know are potential problems. SC are normally handled during service such as oil changes. If you are like me and live to far and do not have KIA do oil changes it is advisable to call and check on SC. Unless, someone knows away to check online?

I heard a rattle from the trunk area...sounded almost as if the trunk wasn’t closed. Just happened to drive over the transition from a asphalt road to a concrete bridge and it was a slight bump. It was definitely noticeable. I have only 300 miles on the car...so an oil change will be a bit longer. If it is a common issue...definitely needs to be fixed.

There is a recall (or maybe just a bulletin) to replace a mounting pad under the rear truck strut. No big deal.

Still could have been your car. Who knows what the mechanic does when you drop it off. Hahaha
