Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

Added v12 back to the JB4 thread. Early logs I've seen seem fine. If any issues come up for anyone, v11 is there to roll back to.
So far so good for me. Although we have inclement weather currently where I am at and I haven’t been able to go WOT with logs. But it seems to being running fine.

138 trans temp LC fail, 149 trans temp LC works. I like this new feature.
And my oil was reading 200 with the trans down at 120 ish so my old method was flawed.

The ECU also limits the power output if trans temp is too low.

Is there a consensus with range for transmission temp? No power cut issue and launch control function.
Anyone try boost by gear now? How's it feel compared to previous version?
Awesome new features with v12.

I heard that power is limited below 40C or 100F. Don't know if its an on/off thing or if it is gradual. Tests will tell.

Yes for a day or two. I purposely didn't post the update details here yet to avoid the headache knowing we're only letting 50 people grab it. :)
Sorry for posting it. I’ve just been checking the n54 site since you released the teaser video and as soon as I saw it was made public I just had to share this awesome update.

My buddy tried it and said the BBG works much better now. He was able to walk a new Supra from a dig using it.:D

Terry, do you forsee any possibility of making the app accessible via Android Auto for those of us in states where the handsfree laws have gone way overboard?

Is that for situations where he's limited by traction in lower gears? This doesn't add more power on higher gears, does it?

Check with JB4 Mobile on that, I only do the windows app programming myself. :)

Can you make the windows app window sizeable?

I could but been too busy with other projects to dedicate much time to it. Most customers use the mobile apps these days. :)

Did another test and 140 is the min trans temp for LC.

If you do touch the windows app ever, the MPH scaling is much better on the phone app.
Also ECU PSI and Boost still not matching up that well when target is 0. This isn't the best log for tat since I was using a little boost at the very top but you can still see it.

There will be more spikes and valleys in ECU_PSI as it's not digitally filtered where PSI is. But the scaling should be the same in the firmware now. ECU_PSI itself is only used for the app output. Internally the JB4 is using the 10 bit analog to digital values for it's tuning. So it's not of much consequence either way. One of these days we'll adjust ECU_PSI to reflect boost as read BY the ECU rather than boost sent to the ECU, which will give us fully closed loop system. We'll need that for absolute boost targets down the road once we figure out how to log factory boost set point.

Yes. Boost by gear allows the limiting of additional boost in the first 3 gears and is mostly used by “tractionally challenged” RWD Stingers. 500wtq+ easily spins the rear tires in 1st & 2nd gear but this feature allows you to set the maximum boost to launch without spinning. This is how my buddy beat the Supra from a dig and many others use it for awesome launches off the line.

And no, this feature doesn’t add more boost in higher gears as the JB4 does that by itself.

Thanks. Just making sure I understood why some people were so excited. As an AWD owner, this isn't a huge change for me..

But, I should probably grab the 12.0 firmware update sometime.. Still running 11 on map1, haven't had time to do a log run..

My awd is a pure dog off the line. Aside from wire cutting I don’t think there’s any way to get her up and out of the hole in a hurry, never mind traction issues. I’d love a revision to LC that allows good boost and no nannies on launch!!!

AWD or RWD, monitoring the trans temp will always be useful to know when it is up to optimal working temp before doing pulls, or to see if you're encountering some overhead issues in hot weather.

Need to install the burnout switch so you can brake boost. Then it becomes an animal off the line and you'll want to limit boost in 1st in some cases. :)

My fear is breaking something and having it noticed. Cutting wire harness is fringe on my list of things to do but I know it would be exciting. All my mods are easily reversed to stock right now

Haven't heard of much getting broken yet running it, but it's more wear and tear for sure. If cut under the factory tape it's unlikely anyone would ever notice. If you changed anything in the flash it would be easily detected. But as the saying goes, more power, more problems. So need to weigh the risks and benefits. :)
