I'm getting a misfire code. No clue wtf happened but it started sputtering and I thought it was transmission. Apparently it's a misfire. Now car in limp mode. If I get it towed to dealer I'm guessing they may notice the E85
blend? Did spark plugs at .22 gap. Think that will cause warranty issue (the plugs)? I assume since I changed plugs they won't be covered.

I said before Map 3 was sputtering and running weird. Maybe this was misfire all along? Code is 061B

So after turning off car for couple minutes and back on misfire seems gone, but car is running in a limp mode with very little power. Wonder if this is from the remaining CEL? Or a failsafe built in.

Don't know as 061B isn't a misfire code. But never take a modified car to the dealer. Go home and figure it out first. What is the full mod list?

First step would be evaluating/logging it on map0. Clearing codes ign on, engine off, etc.

Engine off an hour now CEL is gone and it's running normal. But I have on map 0 for now. What code is 061b? Mods are intake, JB4, muffler delete.

Looks like it's a torque code, usually I've only seen it when there are trans issues like slipping while brake boosting, etc.

Oh shit. Did you see me posting about how my transmission was jerky in that other thread? I've had transmission jerk for a while. Problem is I'm thinking about how to resolve this

Might just be a flaw with the factory software you were able to trigger too, what are ambient temps?

When a code P061B is stored, it means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an internal performance error in the engine torque monitoring system. Other controllers may also detect an internal PCM performance error (with the engine torque monitoring system) and contribute to a P061B being stored.

Hmm. Temps are like 60s

Don't know then. I'd presume there is some issue but might be tricky to sort out what it is. Not the sort of code that is likely to leave you stranded though so I wouldn't worry about it to much.

According to this mechanic, the back passenger spark plug looks like it wasn't touched. So looks like that one is gapped at factory .38 a step WARMER, while other ones were changed to .22 step colder.

That would cause codes not sure if it would cause that specific code though. Easy to find out. :)

Dealer found two internal PCM defect issues/codes. They put in formal request to KIA to cover it. $1500+ for the PCM module alone, then labor would of been another $1000+. Thank God I went to the dealer before I got too mod heavy. After they replace my computer, I'll put JB4 back on. My guess is the jerky trans issues I've had will go away.

I'm following this very interesting. I was having major issues but all caused from stock spark plugs and not gapping. Got the two step colder plugs from Burger Gap them to .022 and was running strong and fine. Thought everything was fixed. Just recently started getting a jerk under hard boost as though a misfire was happening again. It has been 18 degrees to 26° when I noticed this happening such as tonight. Could extremely cold weather cause this to happen I wonder? GD this car has been one thing after another since f*cking with it. I don't have any codes from it but I hear it and feel it it's misfiring. I have Intakes, downpipes/ mbrp exhaust, JB4 map 2. Was running e85 on maps 5 as well, didn't have that issue before. I'm hoping it's just the extreme cold weather maybe some blowout issues going on? I know log revert back to map zero log and try to identify. I'm just sick and tired of this that's all it just should run run strong all the time without issues that's how my 11 year old Subyleggy was 420 horsepower to the wheels, 4 years straight not a single goddamn issue. It's just frustrating

I'm beginning to think these cars are just too heavily monitored/ censored and temperamental.

my guess is poor quality fuel. Post up the logs and don’t guess... cars are fine , most issues are often self induced by owners. What 91 are you running? Winter gas is often containing higher ethanol percentages and can cause issues for sure

Utah 91 I thought about fuel but it didn't do it in the first three-quarter tank of gas. So scratching my head

Winter fuel is a lesser quality, can result in issues

Was the jerk during shift? Seen more throttle cut shifts and a second car that won't do the 3-4 shift lately. If you feel a breakup cut out hesitation feeling that could be timimg pull due to octane or if in 4th or 5th gear 5k rpm range - torque limits. (Torque issue not likely on map 2).
Torks back end ecu flash meant to be used with jb4 would help shifts and launch faster.
