Hi, @me&stinger and welcome. Numerous practitioners have warned against using a heat gun. A hair dryer is enough. The main risk (even without any paint adhesion issues, as on a few cars) is scratching the clear coat around the badge/script. I'm dexterous and would give it a try: masking around the item to be removed, and keeping the floss or fishing line (not a prying tool!) pulled well up at the edges; never sawing back and forth with the floss/line held low: even with masking, that risks abrading the clear coat. If you doubt yourself at all, have a body shop do it.
