I think the only folks who consider wheel finish choice a "fad" are either really old or really out of touch with the world around them.

These are the people that think to themselves "I don't like this, so it will obviously go away because I'm right and anyone who likes it are suffering a temporary lack of judgement."

Lol. Yes, I'm old, but contrary to your theory I do like the black wheel "thing". Back in the Old Days we used to pull our hubcaps (remember those?) and paint our rims black.

I might very well get a black package on my next car ... but if it's going to look outdated after a year I might think twice about it.

i love the black wheels. I have had them for the past decade in my old car (Z) and continued the tradition in my new car (Stinger GT). Extra points if they stick out too.

No. Mine is black, lowered and my wheels are 20s. Those look like 19s. Still, that looks good.
