I like the look of black wheels on some cars and in some colors, but I'm wondering if it is a fad that is already losing steam. Seems like "black packages" from the mfr's are becoming fewer, and maybe it's my imagination, but it seems like I'm already seeing fewer black wheels on the road.

Does the black wheel fad still have legs?

I think its still growing in popularity ,,,,,,,,,,,,whats next Chrome ?? Bawaaaa

I'm not a huge fan of the black wheel thing, but then again...if I see it on the right car with the right color paint I'm in love. I do think it's not as big as it once was though, just from what I see around town.

Judging by the BMW parked in front of my local wheel store all last week, they're pushing rose gold.:lipsaresealed:

I think the matte black wheel trend is fading because so many people achieve the same look with plastidip. I think gloss black wheels and packages still have plenty of steam.

I would hate to miss out on a fad:cry: so I'm going black as soon as I get back. Hope that leave enough time:whistle:

You go boy , I'm on your team , !!

See...now I like those. Maybe it's the red?
Nope , those are our stock GT wheels painted black , they look great in black !!

I didn't powder coat my OE GT wheels gloss black because of a fad: I did it out of self preservation: repairing the delicate alloy and the gun metal inner paint got to be impossible. I decided that gloss black touchup paint was the answer for dings and scrapes; much easier (than sanding) to make look good from a few feet away. If nobody else stays with black, then I'll be the only one rolling black. :P I liked the effect so well that I bought the TSW "Watkins" in Double Black for driving most of the year (and the OE wheels get used in winter-salty-road-season).

I can see the Vossen HF1 gloss black machined wheels on my Stinger as soon as my Michelins are toast. All one color wheels just don't do it for me.

I don’t think the “fad” is waning, not here anyway.
