Drag/Acceleration Mods to improve ¼ mile times and unofficial track thread

He did 11.43 today, trap speed is unknown.
If he can verify that with a slip he’d have the quickest 1/4m Stinger:thumbup:, on this forum at least.

That’s a nice time but would expect better if he truly has 600whp. 450-490whp Stingers are only about 0.1sec slower and would hope for low 11s at the very least.

Brake snip is working with my Tork tune now. Hit my best 3.64 0-60 using the beast mode snip. Still had some wheel spin so room for improvement. Hit a 3.70 this morning using LC.Screenshot_2019-11-01-17-03-25.webp Screenshot_2019-11-02-05-08-49.webp Screenshot_2019-11-02-06-21-12.webp Screenshot_2019-11-02-06-24-27.webp
Made few runs, first 121 trap and first 9 second 60-130.
The 121 was limp brake snip and + 1.6 psi from the jb4. The 11.64 was stock LC and just the tork tune.

Love that cold weather! If only it was that cold on track days you'd have an 11.4x. :)

Yeah need cold for the turbos and warm for the tires. I'll get it eventually

I new in tuning community. Wondering why it is possible to have tork tuning with jb4 maps in place? They are tuning different part of the ECU? Thank you in advance.

Tork tune does most the work - launch, shifting, timing, boost, torque limits and jb4 can fine tune boost. You have to run a custom map. I'm using it to add 1 psi just up top. Doesn't do much, maybe .05 in the quarter and 1 mph but its something. Others are running 91 tunes with lower boost and add a bit more boost when they have better gas available.
Flat afr
Boost holds to readline and a little more so with the box
No 1-2 shift throttle closure
Low fuel trims on e20
Pefectly aligned timing (showing cyl 2-6)

Thank you so much. So if I just use 91octane, tork will help much more than jb4?

What part of Canada do you live?

Ontario.

Great Log, but I have a question. Are you using JB4 fuel wires for for AFR control while stacked?

No one I know with the Stinger is doing it yet but another common application is lowering boost on a hot flash map to something more conservative for daily use. And for RWD lowering boost at the launch is always useful!

91 octane sucks so you'll be more limited. Probably best off just running a JB4 map2 and looking in to one of our clean plug and play WMI kits.

Your log looks very different than mines. :)
Here ignition timings do not drop during shifts but the throttle closes, also trims have a different shape.

When you arrive in 7th gear, does your car also stop inceasing the RPM?? I dont know why but my car as well as the car of many friends around me suddenly stop increasing RPM after shifting into gear 7.

Speed limiter?

On the boost decay at the shift it's factory logic to keep turbine speed down. When they flash map they can remove/alter that logic.

Your boost holds nicely into the high RPMs (custom map?) but do lose lots of boost on the shift when the throttle closes.
I don't go that fast to test acceleration in 7th gear. I think 5th is all I ever get into. :)

Will Hatzer does a mild 14 PSI (JB4) / 16 PSI Tork tune for 91 octane and uses the Jb4 to up the boost when he runs better fuel. He ran a 3.99 0-60 no brake snip on just the tork tune. This seem like the best solution for 91 octane if you don't want to do WMI. His base Tork tune is as fast as most E30 and WMI guys.

Yes I've heard he runs it but never heard his 1/4 mile times or trap on 91. JB4 only I usually dragy run around 117mph on 91, 119mph on E30.

No I don't use the fuel wires, ECU tune has better fuel control and can avoid that 15 -16 AFR at 4500 RPM in first gear that some people see.
I do have the IAT wires installed but have had better results just adjusting the boost by RPM instead. IAT must enter in to some equation on boost as lying about it by 20 degrees caused rapid overboost. I may dabble with IAT again but if so much smaller amounts.

He doesn't have any 1/4 mile times yet. Lives in a big city and not close to any tracks. 117 on 91 ain't bad.
