2019 GT1. All of a sudden no sound from radio. I turn car off then back on and it works. Anyone else? Fix?

Ultimately the radio gets replaced. This has occurred to forum members a number of times over the last year-plus that I've been on here. Some occurrences are singular; others with significant time in between. And some, resulting in radio replacement, are hair pulling frustration (to read the posts describing the issues). And, radio replacement is very rare. In other words, this is a rare problem.

Happens to me, need to go to advanced radio settings and turn quantum surround processing off. Only fix we know of for now.

I’m not sure this is quite that rare. I had it when I first got my car and read the fix on this forum. No problems since. Have read multiple other members having similar issues. Vaio23 states the fix on this thread. Need to turn the Quantum Logic off in advanced sound settings.

I have a 2019 GT1 - I have experienced this more than a few times. I believe I only have the standard stereo.
Does the standard stereo have quantum logic option?

I'm not sure. You will need to look in your sound settings. Try to find advanced under the sound settings and scroll down till you see Quantum Logic. Then you can turn it off.

Does this happen when phone is connected?
I’ve had issues with screen going blank while using Waze and no sound, if I unplug my phone that usually clears it, not sure if it’s my phone or the radio. I’m planning on upgrading my phone soon so have been putting up with it.

I had my phone blue toothed when mine went wrong. No sound whatsoever from the infotainment unit. Turning off the car apparently cleared it for some but it didn't with mine unless it was off for a while. The fix I described earlier fixed it for me. My screen didn't go blank, it kept playing as normal but just no sound.

I've been reading about this on here for over a year. Occasionally, someone raises the issues with no sound again. There isn't one issue occurring, but one or more out of several. The sad truth is that no "issue" has been IDed as the culprit. In all of that interfacing complexity that is our electronic fab world of entertainment and communication convenience, something doesn't do its designed job. Now, is it a recurring glitch or a one-off? In my case, so far, it was a one-off: as are the majority of these issues, as far as it appears. Recurring issues have a software or hardware fubar going on. I doubt that turning off "quantum logic" is going to solve every lost sound problem. The source of the sound is the biggest culprit, in my estimation. I only source USB stick files. And I have CariFi OFF because I judged that the quality of sound is better when sourcing music from a USB stick with ClariFi OFF. I've had my Bluetooth connection fail exactly once. One-off failures are common. Radio replacement is extremely rare. That was the point I made.

My most common recurring problem is when I turn the car back on, the Medía selector reverts to Bluetooth instead of USB: and I have to slap the system around (turn off, back on, open Medía, close Medía, etc.) until I get USB connection back. Happens sometimes, not most of the time. I've lived with it since I got the car.

No worries Merlin. With the complexity of these systems nowadays, intermittent faults like these happen and I suppose we have to live with them. It hasn’t stopped me from loving the car though. No doubt the Quantum Logic won’t be the root of all the problems with this system but a good place to start.

This happened to me day like 3 of owning the car and I made them replace the whole car. Never happened on the new one.

Hard to believe they would replace the car for a problem like this. Did they say what was wrong with it?

I took it in, they tried to recreate the problem and I told them exactly how. I even took a video of it happening. They called me back next day and said they could not recreate the problem. I was fairly pissed because at that point it was happening hourly. I went in and told them I couldn't believe they couldn't recreate it. They said sorry. We will order a brand new "console cpu" or something to that effect and have it installed next week yada yada. I drove 2 minutes off the lot and did exactly what I told them to do to recreate it while recording. Center console died so I turned around and went in there fuming. They had a lower mile brand new stinger tinted and ready for me 2 or 3 days later. I transferred the exact same contract and drove it off the lot.

I worked with an awesome sales person who wanted me to be happy with my purchase. I referred a friend there a month later and they even paid for my tags here in Washington (~500 bucks) as a referral bonus.

Sometimes, fuming mad is good! I guess it works for some people. I never tried it out myself. :P

I've only had this happen when I shut the car off with android auto connected, dont disconnect the phone, then turn the car back on. It only did this on my old head unit though, hasnt done it since the new one has been installed (fader issue).

Just to add on, my problem was recreated by "overloading" the console. Radio on, phone connected, switch from comfort to sport all at the same time. Not sure if it's exactly the problem you are referring to, but that's all I got to help with!

Had this issue as well. Would turn the car on and on reguar FM station and switch to SAT and no volume. Switch back to FM, no volume. Only way to correct was turn the car off and it would correct and then do again. After the car being off for a while it was fine. Was at the dealership replacing a tire a few weeks back (holy shit $465 for a rear tire) whole other story...but had them look while I was there and the tech said...oh yeah..just need to do a master reset on the radio.. haven't had any problems since!! May want to try that!?

Shades - This just happened to me 2hrs ago; this is day 3 of ownership. If it continues, I'll try your suggestion.

Is a master reset of the radio something we can do ourselves, or does the dealership have to do it?
