Drag/Acceleration Mods to improve ¼ mile times and unofficial track thread

Weather was in the 30s back then though, I'm sure that will help. I'd definitely up the octane with a can of octane booster or unleaded race gas too when playing around.
It was 40 degrees this week. I've been running 93 octane e10 and i think ill go back to 94 e20 and a little lucas.
But did run the LC 11.75 on 17 psi

Given your fuel pressure issues pump gas with unleaded race gas mixed in is probably the best performance bet.

Race gas probably a good idea. But if i dont use brake snip i dont have fuel issues. High pressure stays above 10 and trims below 35. And with limp snip the overboost / over tork seems to kick in before the fuel pressure gets too low. Beast mode snip is a different story and fuel does crash pretty hard.

You probably just need to lean your car out in 1st gear, having it set so rich and running 18psi+ is overwhelming the high pressure fuel pump. And it's happening so fast it's not likely CPI or WMI would help as they take a second to kick in.

Not to change the subject...Where are you at with the PURE Turbo upgrade and tuning it?

It's FFP's car. Last I heard they were working on building the trans. It's started slipping after the last round of 126+ mph trap runs.

Are you aware that there is another Stinger with upgraded turbos and that is making 600whp (in Korea)? The guy didn't do anything to the transmission.

The guy in Korea is up to 700whp since he got an ecu remap

Oh I misunderstood the post on BMS Facebook page. Didn't know it was their car. I understood it to mean you were working with them. Which as I think about it now you already have the JB4. Doesn't the JB4 have turbo upgrade as a future enhancement, or is it already there?

He's working with them to help them tune their car, which has upgraded turbos. I don't think BMS is planning to offer any turbo upgrades. I think they would probably help various people get their upgraded turbos working correctly with a jb4.

On the tuner comparison chart the last line says as one of its features "Support for aftermarket turbos". So you're saying that support comes in the form of person technical help vs technology built into the JB4?tuner_comparison_chart.webp

The JB4 is just one of many components you'll need to maximize a larger than factory turbo setup. A good back end flash map being another critical component.

No, you probably never heard of him.
Maybe you thought I was talking about a car with big turbo kit from L**3 (there are like 4 or 5 or them), but here I am talking about enlarged turbo housing just like the pure turbos and stock components around.

Not yet (there is no drag racing in this country; only as a competition event 4 times a year)

That’s disappointing as it would be great to see what their 1/4m & trap speed is. But this is also likely why his transmission is fine compared to FFPs car. They raced it at the track repeatedly with hard launches and abused the stock tranny. It also depends more on the amount of low rpm torque not top end HP since that’s what will usually hurt a transmission.
