Maybe I am the only one but I would love to see a stinger coupe, maybe not have it be electric but have it be a bit more sporty and have Kia listen to the gripes and suggestions and put that into a 2 door stinger. Just my two cents.
Just to keep accurate information: his name is Albert, not Alfred.Interesting to hear the entire car is conceptualized, designed and championed in Germany by KIA Germany and Alfred Bierman from BMW.
There goes the original intent/concept, though. What would they call the model, "Stinger Phat"?If they make it a little taller and call it an SUV, everyone and their grandmother will buy it.
the marketing has always been bad for the Stinger. They advertise the heck out of the Telluride and those fly out of the dealerships. Cant remember last time I saw a Stinger commericial and I've only seen one a couple times. From the article:
Of course sales are slow. They're not marketing/advertising the Stinger worth a damn, and the pricing strategy is wrong.
I am of the same opinion that they will keep making the Stinger. I cannot for the life of me explain their lack of marketing and advertising for the car though. They got off to a good start then went away.Good question , Genesis have 3 SUVs in the works , launching over the next year or 2 , thats where all the growth is and where they will likely spend the majority of the AP $$ , Kia has the same dilemma with huge sales and interest in their SUV line up ( note the huge success of the Telluride which staddles the Stinger GT price point ) and they have more larger and smaller SUV/crossovers in the plan . Maybe the Stinger has done its job of creating awareness for the brand and increased the equity a bit , certainly with auto journalists !! I think its a matter of getting their respective portfolios in balance , as an example BMW dove straight into expanding their footprint in the crossover/suv segment having positions from X1- X7 , despite declining sales of their 3,4,5,6 and 7 series I doubt they will discontinue them . They have culled out a few slow sellers like their GTs though ...........If the Stinger doesnt make it to Gen 2 , good for all of us for being early adopters and able to enjoy being part of Kia's transition ! I'm OK with that .................but I'm betting they will continue with it to keep a toe in the segment ( and not to piss off Albert and Peter !! )

both Kia and Hyundai have debuted new E (concept) cars at recent autoshows and both have declared their portfolios will be brimming with E cars in the near future so I'm sure they are developing infrastructure to support the strategyHas Kia ever produced an all-electric car? I would never imagine they'd start with the Stinger model unless it was a performance-based GT model to compete with the Teslas. Then they still have to buy the components from Tesla or Honda.
Unfortunately for most of us, the limited range and, mostly, purchase prices put these E vehicles beyond our reach.I know some of us want to believe the E car "thing" is a phase or fad but the foundations keep expanding
Not until we’ve burned all the fossil fuels.

scale , expanded charging infrastructure and govt rebates will fix that issue over timeUnfortunately for most of us, the limited range and, mostly, purchase prices put these E vehicles beyond our reach.
