Bigger Turbo Options for the Kia Stinger

Uh, there are actually a LOT of Stingers with 350-400WHP because that's achievable with basic bolt ons... Some of us are just restless when it comes to power, lol
Are you talking about 2.0T stingers?

I think he was talking about 2.0 stinger specific . I doubt there are any 2.0 stingers putting 350 400 hp. To wheels

I would figure adding one of the tunes plus full exhaust would make it 2.0 close to 80hp. Idk about who thou. Maybe adding a throttle body and racing intercooler would push over 100+ for 2.0 right? Im jist guessing and hoping cause I have a 2.0. Lol

It doesn't work this way. If we look at sort of similar engine (Evo X) wich had 300hp stock, with all bolt ons (ex. manifold, full exhaust, intercooler, piping, AEM intake box) you could raise power to 400hp. Anything above this it was either meth or cams. I doubd there are cams for stinger.

Not for a cam driven fueling system. The last lobe of the cam drives a LPFP which works with the HPFP in the tank.

Or E85 - first google hit for evo x e85 claimed 400 whp, which translates to something like 500 chp if you factor in 20% drivetrain loss..

E85 gives a lot of advantages, but if we are talking about mustang dyno 400whp for Evo X, then it is a lot of work. Cams / all what I wrote above / plus fueling system (pumps, injectors). And even with this mods it is hard to reach 400 whp on stock turbo, because it is very small for this power.

For Stinger, it is a very big question, how to use E-85.

400 whp on the stock turbo? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No. Not on a properly calibrated dyno not named "dynojet". If hes reading over 400 whp on that dyno, then his baseline on that dyno must be in the 280 whp + range stock.

Keep in mind fully bolted evo x's (on e85) needs the intercooler, upper and lower piping, full downppipe, catback, tune, fuel pump, larger injectors, intake, tune and usually the handheld tuner. I can tell you from managing the parts department of a very mod heavy/friendly Mitsubishi dealership for years that the investment to do this is huge.

I emailed PTP about the 2.0T turbo blanket as well and the answer was the same, they still need someone in the area to volunteer to let them take a look. None of their universal blankets will fit based on the guy's estimation. Maybe if folks keep bugging them they'll find someone or seek one out.

I've been following Jonny Tig with his Stinger GT mods. He is getting ready to start some research with high flow turbos and the JB4 to get more hp.

The fact that LAP3's turbo kit isn't on sale for the Stinger, yet, is such a fail... :( lol

Just put my order in today for the 512hp kit minus the Uncle Chip. I'm getting the GTS logo cut into the air filter boxes and also added the Green LED backlights for added bling. I'm going to paint the boxes Federation orange paint. Should look very nice when it's all said and done.

Top notch! You definitely need to post up some before/after videos of that thing. I want to hear how that 4" exhaust sounds!

4"!?! Who needs back pressure?

How much did it cost you without the chip? Their 512 kit seems overpriced for an intercooler, catback, and intake. $4k?

Welllllllllll... technically dual 2.5" is going to flow more overall volume than a single 4", though the single 4" will have higher exhaust velocity (which changes the exhaust sound/reduces drone). It will be physically lighter, though, so that's a benefit, too.

On his facebook page he has video with sound of the 4" pipes.

Just noticed the kit is a turbo back not catback. Can you link us non-Facebook users to a video of the sound?

US dollars $3.5k and some change. Not including shipping. He's still trying to find the best shipping option.
