Nothing special and pretty sure Kato and almost everyone else uses the same simple method. Turn on brake switch, hold throttle down until ~2800rpm(torque converter limits) and sidestep brake pedal for a boosted launch.I'm just curious how @Kato_the_kia_stinger put down his numbers. 11.599 @ 118.77, 7.464 @93.86, 1.614
Was this just a lucky run where everything hooked up, or does he (or anyone else) have a repeatable, reliable method? I'll have to try @Tonkabob method and see how it goes. crazy numbers here:
Drag/Acceleration - The Official 1/4 mile track thread.
The code was P0200. Injector fault. What is the code ID? It should be an over boost fault code.
In any event there is definitely more potential wear and tear but you're going to be stuck .2-.3ths behind everyone else unless you get it sorted. On my to-do list is to figure out JB4 EWG control which would make lowering boost on flash maps much more direct.
What kind of fuel pressure number do you consider bad when running high E content like over E30?Thanks. Looking at map 4 seems like the lowest we can get boost in 1st gear here is that ~19psi peak. Not really low enough to do do what we want. Lowering boost in the flash either in just 1st gear or across the board would probably be a good move.
On fuel pressure dropping looks like it was just making a lot more power there. If it's a trend then may need to lean out air/fuel ratio in that range or at least lower boost.

My commute is 51 miles each way.My commute is 1.5 miles each way![]()
Yeah i think you could be right. Spoofing boost up or down is going to mess with ecu adaptives when i go back to map 0, or even if i change the amount of boost spoof.Isn't it bad to change maps back and forth?
The ECU needs time to readapt.
Looks like he is seeing the same thing as me, When you hit ~20psi downlow in first gear the hpfp gets angry, I personally don't think leaning it out is a great idea during intial spool, BUT dialing back the boost in that area might help. I'll do some more testing this weekend and se what I found.Thanks. Looking at map 4 seems like the lowest we can get boost in 1st gear here is that ~19psi peak. I'm not sure how fast the adaptives happen. I'd like to know as well, Its frustrating that from a roll I'm a monster and from a dig I'm amonster 1 out of 10 launchs...I think I caught a piggy back infection. I was trying +3 PSI last week so the ECU saw 17-18 PSI in 4th gear (21 PSI actual) and pulled timing evenly across the board, like it would with out the boost spoof at 21 PSI. Since the ecu seen boost was fairly low the timing pull must have been torque related.
Few days later doing a pull with no boost spoof and again in 4th gear 17-18 actual PSI, across the board timing pull. I was able to hit 20 PSI cleanly in 4th before that learned correction. Just reset the ECU for an hour in hopes it forgets its bad habits.
Wonder what bad habits it learned doing reduced boost in valet and boost by gear? But I think xot1 is right that its better to do fewer changes and let them ride.

BUT atm my best launch is currently map4 using launch control

Sadly I can't update my flash atm, I don't have time to mail my ecu over atm..Yes I emailed you a few ideas but I'd lower the boost target just in 1st gear on the flash side and lean the AFR target out to give the fuel pump a chance of keeping up. I'm not sure CPI or WMI is going to inject enough volume fast enough for it to make a difference in 1st gear.
What do you have to do to reset it when it goes into limp mode?I tried IAT spoof to 95 in when the actuals were around 55. Didn't spoof any boost and it overboosted hard and fast, limp mode. So going back to just trying to add a little boost. My tests earlier this week with more boost and snip ended up being the same as map 0 and stock LC. 11.73, 11.75s. I'll try some more LC launches with a little extra boost to see If I can drop the times at all. In the cold the snip is adding almost nothing as I get a little over boost timing pull in 1st using the snip where LC does not so they pretty much equal out. I think it will be hard to get back in the 11.5s on this 92 octane tune even with the extra jb4 boost.
Just restart the car and boost comes back. What do you have to do to reset it when it goes into limp mode?
