Thanks! Things were getting a little out of hand, and we really appreciate you putting us back on topic! Also greatly appreciate everyone's understanding of the process!
Just out of curiosity, how popular is the
G70 crash beeam mod? Also, we would love to test fit on a
G70 as well, so if you know anyone in the Delaware area with one
You're not actually far off. We still have at least a few weeks before we have a testable kit here. After the testing is finished up we'll still have a few months before we can launch anything, but I'll make sure to keep you in the loop!
Definitely check out the link that
@Manaz posted below! There's a ton of info in there about the different aspects of intercooler construction that effect the cooling, power and flow.
Two directly answer the question though, it won't matter very much. Intercooler design is a delicate balancing act between to create a heat exchanger that can flow but also quickly dissipate the heat. We'll be using a bar-and-plate core which is much more effective at both of those than a tube-and-fin design. On top of that, we wanted to make sure that all of our fin surface area was being used. Sure we could have gone bigger, but that would also have an effect on pressure drop, and anything tucked behind the crash beam wouldn't be very effective at transferring heat.
We also have our own technical article on
intercooler design and construction if you wanted to dive in there too
We're looking at a 28"x8"x4.5" core and it'll easily support up to 800hp. Pipes come in at 3" as well
Thanks for the link! Definitely a lot of useful info in there guys!
We're planning on this being the best bang for your buck kit, and we'll have a discounted presale AND offer financing as well, so plenty of options for you! Also for the BOVs, our hot side piping will still be compatible with the stock re-circulation valves, so as long as your adapter plate works with that you should be OK. We also may be working up an adapter plate of our own, so stay tuned!
Thanks for all the questions guys! Keep 'em coming
