Those Rays get my vote but I’m going to settle for a staggered set of ACE AFF06’s. Should I go with 19x9.5 or 10 for the rear?

If you're going to go staggered, you might as well go wide, I'd go for the 10's with 285/35r19's

Thanks I’m gonna do the 10’s then.

Update...About to pull the trigger on a staggered set of 20x9 front 20x10.5 rear but not sure if I should choose 30 or 35 for the front offset and 40 or 45 for the rear. I'm after a concaved look if choosing the offset will matter. Can @GetYourWheels or anyone help?

9+30 and 10.5+40 will poke a little, 9+35 and 10.5+45 will be flush, depends on what you're going for. I don't think you're going to get any more concavity with the lower offsets, that's usually reserved for much lower offsets. You'll still have some in the back.

Great thanks! I didn’t order yet. Keep changing my mind on what I want just when I think I’ve got it figured out lol.

Hi all, first post here (tire noob as well). Looking at a squared set up 20 x 9 +35 offset for my AWD GT1. What would be my safest bet on tire size? Thanks!

I think most will recommend 255’s. What wheels you looking at?

Here you go, there are squared setup sizes at the bottom of the chart you're looking for 255/30r20 tires for 20x9, +35 will be flush, click the links to see how it measures up.

Hi,

I am thinking of OZ Ulragegra HLT wheels with factory tires Continental Conti Sport 5 225/40 255/35 r19.

OZ wheels: front 19 x 8.5 ET38 [10.5kg /pc], rear 19 x 9.5 ET40 [11.5kg /pc].
Do you have any experience wheter this size and offset will be OK with the factory tires? and what about the comfort, handling and ride on pothole roads with these wider / lighter wheels and factory tires?

I think it would work as a short term solution, but the tires might look pretty "Stretched", 255 works well on the stock 8.5" rears but 9.5" is an inch wider. I would suggest going up with your next set of tires. I think it'll work, let us know how it goes.

Here's what your front would look like on stock suspension:
Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets

And here's what the rears would look like:
Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets

The recommended tire size for that setup would be
Front 245/35r19
Rear 285/30r19

Oh, also note that 8.5+38 MIGHT have clearance issues with the brakes depending on the shape of the spokes, I would suggest test-fitting the wheel (put the wheel on the car without mounting tires and measure clearance with the brakes and suspension. TSW Sprints at 8.5+40 are very close to the brakes, even TSW doesn't recommend the +40 offset option for the 8.5" wide wheel, and recommends the +30 offset instead.

You're right within the window for these specs, if you love em, give it a try, most likely if you test-fit before mounting tires you'll still be able to return them if you're not satisfied with the fitment.

Thanks :) this is helpful...
I just wonder about changes in comfort, handling etc...
The easiest way to improve the handling would be to install Eibach sway bars but this would cause a problem with warranty (we have 7 years in Poland and I would prefer not to loose it).

I don't know about over there, but it's extremely unlikely that sway bars would cause warranty issues, in North America they'd have to prove that the sway bars caused an issue. The sways are entirely bolted to hard parts of the frame and suspension, the only thing that might break would be the sway bars themselves (I've never heard of this happening, but everything they're attached to is stronger than the sways themselves). They shouldn't have any affect whatsoever on the shocks and spring rates, if anything, stiffer sway bars keeps the suspension closer to the sweetspot in the middle of travel, minimizing the work that springs and shocks need to do.

More than likely you will feel zero difference in comfort with those wheels, especially if using the same overall diameter tires (or stock tires) given that you're not changing the diameter of the wheel itself.

Your grip should improve with lighter wheels, but if you go with the stock tires, there will be no net difference in traction from that. If anything, changing to these wheels will be mostly aesthetic.

Ahhh, one more note, I had a bit of a hard time finding sizing for those wheels, but it doesn't look like those wheels are available in our PCD which is 5x114.3. Many wheel manufacturers making wheels for european cars won't (BMW/Audi) won't fit our cars, surprisingly, you'll actually have better luck finding wheels that fit Ford Mustangs which we share fitment with.

Thanks, it seems I will have to take a deeper look into the issue of changing sway bars and alleged warranty voiding.
As for the PCD - we have them in 5x114.3 here in Europe - I confirmed it with a local OZ dealer

Well that's interesting to know, they don't list any 5x114.3 on the website I wouldn't mind looking into that deeper. There are some 20" that look nice in quite a high offset (would need spacers)

Ahhh, nice! Yeah, I can't find 5x114.3 on north american sites, weird.

I do see 20x8.5+39 and 20x11+56 which might make a good 20" fitment for those looking to go big, and they're also available in our proper hub size of 67.1. The 20x11+56 might be tight, and need 5mm spacers, but we do have an example of someone running 19x11+50 with 295 tires (I added to the spreadsheet the other day).
