Check this out!!! (ECS control module)

Again, I will state that this was not a bash of xot1. Anyone who brings reprieve from the Stingers poor stock suspension calibration should be wholeheartedly appreciated. I said, nor meant, anything negative of xot1. He broke news of a groundbreaking Stinger Mod. Kudos to him for that.

That being said, my statement remains. Those looking to make an *immediate* connect with the makers of the tuner via an email address, phone number, contact name, purchase link or whatever would probably be well served to pursue an avenue outside of Xot1. I simply stated there seems to be things he cannot or will not share at this point.

I make no judgements, assumptions, or statements about that. He owns the community absolutely nothing. Furthermore as it stands, his contribution is monumental!

A couple more things. I don’t claim he has an ulterior motive. Additionally, no request has been made that anyone learn any language. No request has been made that he speak with a supplier on anyone’s behalf.

The only things that have been asked for here is a contact, an email address, a link, etc.
It is ok if he cannot, or will not, share those information. Again nothing is owed here. He’s already done us a huge service by alerting us to this awesome product.

If we have to do some leg work to get it in our driveways, I am willing to do what I can.
Patience is in healthy supply, here. Similarly, if I can assist I will. I am not one to sit back and watch someone else do all of the heavy lifting, when I too will reap the benefits. Even with my limited Korean vocabulary, I’ve made a flurry of calls, emails, and correspondence to help this product come to the USA.

Xot1, should not have to go at this alone. I’m doing what I can to help and have enlisted others in the project as well.

Again, for anyone who misunderstood my post, I’ll say it again here, more clearly now...
Kudos Xot1! Great job! Now let’s help him bring the product here.

I am pretty sure the developer is well aware of the rest of the world of potential sales since they already have an app, in English, on the Google Play Store. Do you think someone else is buying this product, but we cannot? It seems to me that this is just being released, so we'll buy it as soon as the vendor decides they want to make it available.

I am hoping @xot1 is giving them some feedback from this forum, assuming they are not already monitoring it themselves.

I think this ESC10 module is just being released in Korea market.
I did some research through Korean websites, but it seems like the latest postings/reviews on this product were posted around 5 days ago.
and even in Korea, I couldn't find any stores or websites that sells the module alone without installation.
as of now it seems people in Korean can have this installed via selected shops from manufacturer.

As I watch this thread, I notice a distinct and deliberate effort on the part of @xot1 to avoid providing contact info or to assist members in actually procuring this module. It’s safe to say, he has his reasons for his behavior, but it looks like we are on our own as far as getting this delivered.

I am continuing to work on it and will report back here and share with the community, the instant I get a suitable contact, order link, or lead. Hopefully it won’t be long.
Sorry I do not intend to hold any information, it is just that the company selling these told me they will post it on ebay soon.

I have the personal email of a person working in development and I am only communicating in Korean. I must ask first if it is okay to post his email on a website before doing it.

Yes.
I shared the info with you guys, as soon as I saw the first postings about this, even before the news started spreading on Korean sites. Now everyone is talking about it in Korea but when I created this thread, it was almost unkown. ;)

I asked for a purchase link for the module but every answer I got was a list of installer shops.

That makes perfect sense. I just noticed that you avoided posting that type of information and figured you must have a reason. I do not imply that you were being malicious. You have been a great help. I thank you for your efforts and the info you do share.

Same here. New products take some time to work through the supply chain. Demand can speed that process a bit. Exposure, even more. I’ll keep looking, but so far have found the same issues as you have.

I just got off the phone with Brecks Garage in South Korea, an official distributor for the product.
They informed me that they have the tuner, however, Mando does not want them to sell it outside of Korea.
The representative said he is going to contact Mando to see what can be done. I’m still looking for other sources.

Never heard of this particular shop, but I guess this is just one of the many distributors.
Interesting response. I will ask on my side.

Here is the response I just got:

(Me) How can someone from the US purchase one module? Is there a shop that can send it before you put it on eBay? And can the price be lower if multiple units are bought at once? (group buy)
(Them) If someone wants one, we can send immediately. The number of units purchased won't matter. We will pay for the shipping costs.
(Me) I posted about this product on a foreign website. Several people are interested in purchasing and they keep asking how to purchase it. Some shop in Incheon said that Mando wouldn't sell to the US.
(Them) Even if we can do small quantities, since this is an electronics product we must go through a specific certification process before we are able to sell in larger quantities. People interested can send me an e-mail to 《 lyh4638 @ naver.com 》 , we will check the location and we should be able to proceed. In November, we plan to release this product as the Sema Show in LasVegas, so from that time we will have distribution partners in the US.

BTW, it seems that Mando plans to make more aftermarket tuning parts in the future. By seeing the level of refinement of their first product for the aftermarket, I look forward to seeing what else they have coming. :)

Sorry for the spam but I got an important update!

You do NOT need to start the app to activate your settings each time. In other words, it maintains them even if you turn off the car. You just need the app if you want to change your current profile or adjust your custom settings.

I guess that makes more sense. :)

Awesome - but how do we enable a "custom" setting? Is it with the "custom" drive mode? Or can we only reprogram comfort/sport? If we can have 3 active settings (reprogrammed comfort, reprogrammed sport and separate 3rd option for custom), this will be a winner! In fact, I'd probably order ASAP and see if it can make up for no sway / spring upgrade.

You still use your phone but once the mode is set it stays until you change it.

I get that - but how many modes can we set with the phone to "stay until we change it"? 2 or 3? Or just 1?

I.e. can we reprogram only 1 new "custom" setting that overrides everything now, or can we reprogram a new setting for comfort AND one for sport, so we can switch between those two without a phone and still get the new settings?

And what happens in "custom" mode? Currently, we can only pick from existing OTHER drive modes. Can we actually define a NEW, 3rd setting for custom, we that we can actually pick from 3 different settings, on-the-fly?

That's what I'm asking.

Forget about the car modes. You will change it from your phone. I think he said 4 custom modes.
Question is if you do turn the dial does the stock mode override or does it stay custom.

From my understanding, when the module is enabled, it overrides the drive mode selection for suspension settings. It does not change the stock settings because they are ignored.
It would be really nice if you could fine tune each mode as well as adding new ones and still use the drive mode dial, but from an engineering perspective I don't see how that would be feasable without hacking into the car system.

No override. If you want to use the stock predefined settings, you must disable the module through the app.

So just to be clear, when you set the preference using the app, which drive mode(s) does it override? Custom? All of them? Comfort?

Custom would make the most sense, since it would not interfere with the mode the car always returns to (Comfort, or ECO).

All of them would make some sense, because if you have bothered to program an app, you want that setting no matter what!

The best approach would be to replace all three modes--Comfort with the app Comfort; Sport with the app Sport; Custom with the app Custom (why else would they name them this way?). Presumably they have made improvements to the two standard modes that would be part of the value of the app and part of the reason you would want to set-once-and-forget after you have customized you own Custom setting. It also makes sense that you can self-program more than one Custom configuration.

Anyway, thanks for all the info, but please let us know if they have explained whether my description above is how it works, or some other way.

I am also interested to find out if the stock Comfort and Sport settings are knowable (i.e., we could see them in the same presentment as the app)? I am very curious as to whether either of them uses speed-sensitive alterations to the damper stiffness that is possible with the app Custom settings.

I asked and they said that they are not allowed to divulgate the configuration of sock settings.
Stock ECS also uses the wheel G sensors and the speed sensors to constantly adjust the damper stiffness for anti-squat, anti-dive and anti-roll, etc.
This module only allows you to tune it to your liking, or your driving pattern.

If that's the case, I'll just pick one up in Vegas when I'm at SEMA!

So they're only giving us ONE active profile at a time? I.e. it's ECS-10 "currently active" definition, and that's it? And we lose the ability to switch at all without fiddling with a phone?

I would have thought they could have at least intercepted the "drive mode current setting" signal and given us at least two new, both-active-at-the-same-time settings so we could use the drive mode settings to at least have 2 to switch between on-the-fly (comfort and sport). Why do the app screen shots have "comfort" and "sport" on them? Is that misleading?

If all this does is let you permanently reprogram the suspension to 1 setting only and only the phone can switch it, it's not as exciting as I thought. I guess I'll wait for others try and report back..

I'd like to have the OE specs for all drive modes, but "Custom".

There has to be a way...

I think the problem with that, is that Custom is not a real mode Rather it is just a selection of Sport or Comfort mode. There’s no Custom mode to edit. To do that, you’d have to edit Sport or Comfort mode, and the. Select that edited mode in Custom.
