Exhaust Tips

I just bought some 57mm x 89mm to use with my Borla catback(2.25") from Ali Express in hopes that itll cut down some of the (very mild) drone. Ill let you guys know how it works when I get them. On a side note, I installed my exhaust without telling my wife and she hasnt complained yet!

Those look nice! I tried to find that style tip with an oval shape but could only find oval ones where the CF curves at the end. Here's what I ended up with:

Not bad! Any chance you have a photo straight on from the rear so that we can see all 4 tips? I'm curious how the oval tips look from straight on.

I think someone posted that the oval tips didnt require any trimming as they are like the oem one

I'd love to see a picture of the set up too ! Makes my exhaust delivery wait time pass quicker

Yeah he did say that. I like the round ones I have but i'm always open to changing things up!

Has anyone tried the 3" outlets? I am thinking 3.5" but a bit apprehensive to shave down the existing fascia.

Good info I was just looking at these. If you end up going for it, post some pictures. I'm interested in how they line up.

Do you have the S type Borla ? how bad is the drone ? it's been marketed advising it has no drone anymore ?

To me it's unbearable. At any speed it's super loud tinny sound at around 2k rpm. I'm not driving it anymore until dynmat and tips gets here.

Check your clearances around the exhaust. If you have stock cats/downpipes, there shouldn’t be any drone. You may have to twist/play with the mid pipes a bit (and the rubber hanger) to get it as low as possible. I suspect it is making contact on yours as it vibrates at some RPMs.

If fitted right in stock cats, no drone.

Hmmm makes sense. I do remember it was a really tight fit at the axle maybe it's hitting and hence the tinny sound. On top of that I feel my car vibrate a bit when it's at 2k rpm.

See post #187. Not sure if he went with 2" outlet as they look larger than that but you could do a 3". They just won't look as aggressive.
