RaceChip Customer Support - General Information

I should almost get these numbers I would think , with only the hardware mods added as many have already mentioned , weird for sure!! I may end up going for a ECU flash if I can find one that is has things all sorted out with no codes showing , but before I do that , I will take my RS chip out,or just put the factory settings on it , and see if I can get a Dyno run with only the bolt on mods to see the difference!

Yes I am In Contact with RaceChip support and , I must say they are great , just updated a new Map again and I will re test it tomorrow on how well it takes the fuel in Race mode ! I believe I have put up the 2 different Dyno reports earlier:) I won’t be on a Dyno again for some again again :)

Does the Racechip RS support the Kia Stinger 2.0 RW 2019 model ECU, or is it optimized only for the 2017-2018 model ECU for now?

Just got the GTS from a member here. Does the GTS support the app control from your phone like the site says?
There are two versions of the GTS. One with app and one without app. The seller should know which version he had.
You can also tell us the first 3 digits of your serial number (the serial number is below the barcode on the front of the RaceChip)

I'd asked a question about these posts in the Racechip Installation Guide thread but never got a response, so I'll try again.

"Dumb question - for the regular Racechip S(Sport), number 5 is the highest mapping? In GT and GTS versions 5 is factory stock."

"Yes, but the software of map 5 of the S is not identical to map 5 in the RS. Also Map 6 in the RS is different from map 6 in the GTS."

Is Map 5 on the GTS equivalent to the stock setting? If, so, I'm pretty pissed off, meaning that I spent money to buy a product that is useless unless I'm running 93+ octane fuel. Also, what would the point be of having Maps 3-5 in Sport? - just to give you less performance than you get from stock settings.

Last November, I asked detailed questions regarding the various settings and fuel requirement for each in this thread: RaceChip Product Selection (S, RS or GTS) Racechip support never did reply in that thread.

A response from Racechip would be appreciated.

As we said, map 5 in the S is NOT the same as map 5 in the GTS.
The most important thing is adding proper spark plugs and gapping them properly. Then you can also test mappings 6 and 7 with 91 octane.
For people with 93 octane, we can make the software even more aggressive (just on requst and only if they have the app version).

Thanks for the quick reply. It does still leave the question "Is Map 5 on the GTS equivalent to the stock setting?", though.

I have changed to Denso plugs gapped to .024. In the What are the different mappings? thread, you twice stated, " NOTICE: The settings 6 and 7 are designed for octane 93-98. Do not use them with 91 octane." But, based on what you say above, I can run Map 6 & 7 on 91 Octane because I have changed to tighter gapped plugs, correct?

I'm not wanting to cause trouble - I'm anxious to try Map 6 & 7 on 91 octane fuel but want to ensure that I won't cause any engine damage if I do so.

No, map 5 is the default map when the RaceChip gets delivered. It gives you a very good performance upgrade, but not the maximum possible.
If you want your car to perform like in stock condition, you can select map 0. Map 0 just loops the signals through without changing anything. Map 1 gives you a small performance upgrade. The aggressiveness of the tuning can be increased step by step to map 7. (on request, we can provide even more aggressive mappings than map 7).

You are right. Reading some past statements are confusing now. At the beginning, the spark plug issue was not very well known and many owners did not replace their spark plugs (we did not require it at the beginning). That's why we told everybody that they shouldn't use the higher mappings without premium gas.
So, engines with replaced spark plugs can be tested with map 6 and 7. If the performance is better, you can keep them. If the perfomance does not get better, I would stick with map 5.

I just wanted tell everyone who got their plugs gapped for the Race chip , please make sure that who ever installs them to show s you that they are in fact gapped at your suggested gap , and I just wanted my Denso colder plugs checked ,just to re gapped then down from .024 to .022 well I got a surprise showing the Denso s we’re set to factory gaps of .035 ,when I told them to gap my plugs at .024 , The performance shop who did all my other work except spark plugs, told me to look at this and said these gapped much wider . I now changed to colder NGK race plugs and gapped at .022 and this make the RC chip and everything work like it should :) Just a heads up to us who got a shop to install new colder plugs lol

On your web site you say that your chip makes 422 hp compared to the 365 hp the stock Stinger makes. However, that is flywheel. The stock makes maybe 300 whp. Power levels from modification are normally measured at the wheel.

How did you come up with your 422 number? Do you have a dyno showing 422? IF not, then the number does not really mean anything except maybe ricer math.

My chip and app says 415 hp and I guess that must BHP on the flywheel, my Stinger GT is AWD , so I would think on the wheels stock my be closest to 280 to 300 hp on a Dyno Com, Dyno :) and they said it reads similar to a Mustang DYNO:) mine before the re gap of my plugs was 356.5 whp torque was 502 ft lbs :)! But I have just the RS chip but with other mods :) many are using DYNO Jet s which I was told read HP 13 to 15 % higher then the Dyno Com mine car was on :)

The Mustang dyno reads low. These cars should put down a solid 300 stock. That torque is insane. Will be hard on the tranny.

Yes true enough my Stinger has decent torque numbers ,and such a heavy car weighting approx 4100 lbs just wish the whp matched the torque values lol

Just wondering if you run 91 and if you do can you use maps 6 and 7? I regapped the stock plugs to 22, wondering if I would be able to run a higher map on my racechip GTS.
