RaceChip Customer Support - General Information

Yes true enough my Stinger has decent torque numbers ,and such a heavy car weighting approx 4100 lbs just wish the whp matched the torque values lol

That will take a bigger turbo, something that will happen down the road.

503 foot pounds of torque? That is insane. How does your tranny handle that?

So far the Tranny does well ,and most likely it is designed to handle perhaps even more , but the HP numbers up would be nice to get close to matching the torque numbers lol ,
I must say that you will be happy RC support when needed as they really helped with Mapping and what use octane levels to use :) I run 94 Chevron pump gas to 98 with a Octane Booster as our Canadian gas is not so good up here ! It seems that the designers of these cars left open plenty of room for extra power gains, but Kia recommendations strongly against ethanol blend s , so I using avoid them (( But Tranny wise there has been no problems that I am aware of )),and I run off the RC app , which I am so happy I got and keep it in Race mode 99 % of the time and just use eco setting when I don’t want to much loudness with my Borla exhaust. I would think that even MyTorque value s,might be lower than most as they have much higher WHP than what my car has :) hope this takes aways Tranny worries :) I now have 17 k on my Stinger:) happy driving

A forum member was kicking around here a few months ago claiming to be part of the development team for the Stinger. He had said that the factory tranny could handle a lot more power than the car came with but I cant remember the torque figure he threw out there. Hard to say if he was even legit or not but seemed to know quite a bit about the car.

I just tried launch control with Approximately 20 liters of gas with additive, so approximately octane value of 101and , both of my launches went shortly into limp mode both times , still over spools I guess

Good stuff, thanks guys

Just wondering if you run 91 and if you do can you use maps 6 and 7? I regapped the stock plugs to 22, wondering if I would be able to run a higher map on my racechip GTS.

Check out posts 70-73 on page 4 of this thread. Racechip says you can run Map 6 or 7 on 91 octane with re-gapped plugs.

This a dead thread?

Just got my RaceChip today. I went for a quick test drive and was very happy with the results. I am not planning on upgrading the car any further, so this is plenty for me. (Intake, catback, and now RaceChip)

I was using an UltraGauge for my Boost PSI, but that doesn't seem to be accurate anymore. What are people doing for boost gauges?

I’ll be interested to hear feedback as well. This won’t help you, but I’m using Snow Stage2 boost controller and I have it connected to the vacuum after throttle body to get a more accurate boost reading.

I use the RC GTS and I’m working with RC on more aggressive tuning with boost and timing given all my mods (plugs, intake, exhaust, snorkels, fmic wmi, Octane 101 and Boostane)

I didn't spring the $50 for BT control. Not quite sure if I can customize my RC any further...

Do you have S, RS or GTS? What map(s) do you run on and what octane?

I bought the top model, the GTS. Just trying out Map 5. Best gas we have here is 91. (It's a Cali thing)
Map 5 is Sport and 91 is fine. If you want to move to Map 6 or Map 7 Race then you will want to bump up the octane to 94 or higher and that can be done with Boostane.

I’m in Cali as well and use Boostane. I use Boostane Professional. Approximately $25/quart and I don’t use more than 6 ounces for each tank of gas therefore a bottle will last 6 fill-ups so not to expensive. That will increase 91 to ~95/96. The bottle has instructions for how to much add based on octane level in tank and desired octane. They also have an app.
