Is it only the AWD version that comes with launch control? Or does the RWD have it too?

Welcome to the forums! I asked this question a month or so ago and the consensus was that all GT trims have it, RWD or AWD. Mine is AWD so I can't speak from experience but I'm about 99% sure based off of everything I read.

Hmm. I have the GT and couldn't seem to get it to engage or show up on the dash.

Hold down the "Traction Control" button for 4-5 seconds. This should bring "Launch Control Ready" on the drivers cockpit display. Hold the Break with your left foot, floor the gas, and then release the break pedal ... must be done within 3 seconds of flooring the gas.

Make sure you have traction control and stability control off, then you should be able to press and hold the ESC button for seconds to engage launch control

edit: gotta be in sports mode too.

I have RWD and it does have launch control. Put it in sport mode, turn off traction control and stability control by holding down their button for 3+ seconds (you should hear a beep). Launch control activated! Now, just hold your brakes firmly with your left foot while flooring the gas with your right, it only takes a moment and you should hear a beep and a display in red text pop up on your dash display (to be honest, I've never held my brakes long enough to read it, LOL) and release the brakes and Zoom! Zoom!

I have to ask this question. What use really is launch control? It's only purpose to me seems to be for trimming the 0-100kph time for advertising purposes and when do you use it apart from the race track or drag strip? In the city at a red light? Making a getaway from the bank heist? I have launch control on my Volvo and have never used it nor am I tempted (well, just a little bit maybe ).

I uploaded a video but it’s waiting for moderator approval. So do you see it say launch control activated before you even hold the brake and hit the gas? When I’m in sport mode and hold the traction control button it says traction control disabled and then says traction and stability control disabled. Maybe I’m just not pushing the gas pedal down enough. It seemed like I was just power breaking it really hard when I tried it. Does it start like that then shows up with the launch control on the dash?

Thats exactly what its for. To squeek out some extra performance for the fun of it. It is not used nor designed for daily driving. Its included because it is a performance car and its a feature that is included on most other performance cars these days. Even though its of course not necessary, it would turn people off if it was not something that was included.

Thats step one. Now let go of the ESC button, and press it again and hold it for 4 seconds. You should get "Launch control active" with a beep

That just turns it off and nothing else shows up. Even held it for 10.

I figured it out. I was pushing the gas down too slowly. The notification comes up once the gas is all the way down. Not when you hold the traction button.

I sure hope you're not still in break-in period. Also, Hanzo please switch off Hanzo. We don't need a Hanzo.:laugh::laugh:

I bought the 2.0L RWD Stinger and my dealer said it will not have Launch contoll. Well I'm missing some extras like the dynamic Suspension, but I don't even think it's Optional for the RWD in Germany

I believe launch control is only available with the twin turbo V6...

If you have it, it will be on your window sticker listed as a feature.
