Question about launch control

I might be in my break in period... but... I work for multiple Kia dealerships. ;-).

Hahaha! Do you play? What's your battle tag? Let's get some games in!
Yea I play on console though. Nearly Gold bordered. So I play quite a bit.

Hanzo, welcome to the forum.

I have an AWD 2.0 and I have launch control. It’s so much fun to use and really gets me off the line quick.
Interesting. LC is only listed with the 3.3 in the brochure (but then, the adjustable steering wheel is only listed with the Premium, a definite oversight).

I bought the 2.0L RWD Stinger and my dealer said it will not have Launch contoll. Well I'm missing some extras like the dynamic Suspension, but I don't even think it's Optional for the RWD in Germany

I also have 2.0L, in catalog, official dealer site and user manual is written that I have - bllsht... tried several times and not saw"launch control ready"...

This just showed up in my Inbox as "new reply to watched thread". Buggy ...

My dealer said to be careful as LC could be considered abuse. How is that possible?
You should be fine. LC in the Stinger is pretty tame, and it won't run if the transmission or engine are too hot or cold.

Is it stressful on the drive train? Sure. Is it within spec though? You bet.

It's like a light smack on the rear. If she's up for it, I wouldn't worry. ;) Haha.

They also said there’s no break in period. I don’t have 100miles yet, so taking it easy

I would be careful too. The owner's manual specifies a 600 mile break in period where you should try your best to vary the revs between 1-4k, without racing or using launch control.

I didn't touch LC until 1k miles, though I bought mine with 150 miles, so who knows what the test drivers did!

Break in is 600 miles. And probably still a good idea to do an early/break-in oil change. I'll be doing mine at 1k.

Actually, the manual says to keep the RPMs between 2K and 4K for the first 600 miles.

My car only had 10 miles on it; dressed in white. Unspoiled.

I have launch control on my 2019 Stinger 2.0

Lol. You pic thread necromancy as your first intro. Yes, all Stingers have LC. But it is funny how 2.0L drivers seem to doubt it.
