I have been told by dealerships since November that the GT would be available in December or early January. It is the 7th and still no inventory. All they keep telling me is that they have no information on when they will be coming in, but if I want a standard or Premium they have plenty. Why do they still have no inventory!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I hear ya - the GTs are hard to come by right now. How many dealers have you tried near you?

I think GTs are the rarest right now, and from what I can tell they're all Micro Blue.

Didnt we hear that they were out of engines ?? I'm sure I read that somewhere . The GT has been more popular than they forecast I suppose..............and of course the same engine is being used by Genesis in 3 models as well...............

It’s a great engine and has you said it is being used on all the cars in the Genesis line plus the Stinger, there might be a shortage due to that. Hyundai/KIA has a 3.0 engine out there, they could drop a turbo on that as well and add it to the line. A boost to the 2.0T’s performance would be worth it to separate that engine from the Sonata and Optima’s version and make the G70 and Stingers base engine have a higher performer over the regular cars.

I think the priority is going to placing those engines in the G70 cars and the soon to be released K900, making a twin turbo 3.0 as a top engine for the Sorento, Santa Fe, Azera and whatever larger SUV KIA comes out with makes sense as they work on putting out hybrid and EVs in the future.

On one hand, that would be pretty bad. Not good at all. On the other, it would be interesting because more often than not - it's the weaker, more fuel efficient, and cheaper car that sells the most. Then again, the GT is an enthusiast car and very much wanted. But these companies have a lot of money to work with. They should have been well prepared for any scenario. I kinda hope it's not true...

There's plenty of power left in the 2.0. GM has a turbo 2 liter engine with 1000 horsepower. Kia wouldn't have to squeeze very hard to get 300 horsepower out of the 2.0T...

How about putting the 5.0 V8 in it? I'll bet they have plenty of those ;)
Yes, us V8 lovers would be very happy with that! But it's not "the way" moving forward. Unfortunately, turbos and superchargers are what's coming - with smaller engines. The rumble of the V8 is on borrowed time...

They will be able to tune the current 3.3 well into 400 plus easily if they decide to do a ///M type version

I have reached out to all within about 30 miles. They all say they have none and don't know when any will arrive.

Certainly. I bet they could get 500 horsepower without evening opening the engine. There's plenty of power left on the table with the Stinger GT...

I do hear a rumor that they've got a shortage of 3.3TT V6s. I'm not sure how accurate that is but you never know...

That is what I noticed as well. They are all blue, no other option.

It's been a rough launch. I have a feeling Kia didn't anticipate just how much attention this car was going to attract. I mean - think about it. The K900 is a pretty amazing car - and nobody is buying it. They probably figured they'd get a lukewarm response to the Stinger as well...

I don't think so... it has had more press in 90 days than the K900 and Cadenza combined over the last two years. Plus it is selling well worldwide, even in Korea. It's truly a supply vs demand and I'm okay with that. Perhaps it will further help resale value for the 3.3T. Keep in mind this factory builds multiple models, including the K900, Sedona, and Rio too for WORLDWIDE markets. One facility can only do so much. Quality over quantity, PLEASE! ;)

Same anywhere I guess. Switzerland got about 300 of them for dealerships to show off and then sell ... the rest of us ordering them will wait at least 4-5 months.

It's getting late early for me to hop into a Stinger after my Cadenza lease expires on 1-24.

A 100-mile search from The Bronx (NY) shows a total of 145 Stingers at dealers, no GT's at all (0 for 3), the inventory is split between 2.0 entry level and Premiums, which is my preference.

I'd like a white Premium with a gray interior which also does not yet exist, all 145 cars have a black interior which I have zero interest in.

Tick, tock.

White exterior is hard to get where I am .. it's the new black since years. Inside I like black ... a bit sportier, and the most important: Doesn't show every jeans stripe. White is absolutly horrific at that, especially on the sidewings where you exit the car, so get it immediatly sealed etc.

I don't buy any of the low on engines stuff. I read somewhere Kia was only going to make 20k - 25k stingers this year. 15k were earmarked for the US. They imported 1300 or so last month. If they do that every month they will have right around 15k for the year..

I'm not in love with white but I abhor a black interior, in the first place it's like being in a cave, secondly all detail of the dash, seats, stitching, and door panels are lost. If I want a Premium edition I have a choice of white, white, or white exterior if I don't want to drive in a cave. I think the blue exterior is striking and would love it with a non-black interior but Kia obviously doesn't care what this Optima/Cadenza customer wants although I'm not sure why not.

The dash is black in all interiors I believe , color changes on seats ,soft door panels etc

Yes, you are correct, it's the monochrome color scheme that I don't care for, a little color variation is a good thing IMO.
