Hello All,

I am just creating this thread to serve as a placeholder until the real fun starts.

I had a RaceChip GTS on my Hyundai Elantra Sport 1.6T. I sent it back to RaceChip to be reprogrammed, although I suspect they will replace it, for use in my 3.3TT (RWD). The reason I suspect they will replace it is that the Elantra GTS used only two t-harnesses while the 3.3TT uses three.

FedEx estimates delivery to Germany on Monday 5/20. RaceChip is pretty good with turnaround time, so I figure I will starting my dyno sessions on 5/30 ensures I will have everything I need.

By Friday 5/31, I will update this post with the following:
  • Stock Dyno
  • Stock + Stillen Intake Dyno
Spark Plugs will then be changed to the HKS M45iL and RaceChip will be installed
The only other mod I have completed, which has no bearing on performance but for transparency, it's worth mentioning, is an ADD-W1 dual inlet catch can.

I'll get temperatures on the day of the dyno session, but all pulls will be done using a Dyno Dynamics dynamometer. All numbers will be uncorrected. Fuel will be 93 octane top-tier, either Costco or BP.

Typically, I've just gone all willy nilly with mods and dyno it at the end, but I never got a baseline to know if the mods made any difference.

I'm trying to do this the right way this time but staring at the Stillen intake box on the floor right now knowing I want to install it is killing me.

I have done that same thing with mine. I have a dyno session booked in for 10th June. I have ordered a Racechip GTS today which should be with me this Friday say’s UPS. Gives me a couple weeks to play with it before getting my dyno in. Only problem is I have already got a Quicksilver cat delete and catback system fitted and K&N intakes fitted. So like you I will be having a dyno without the Racechip and another with the Racechip installed. But as I already have my intakes and exhaust I will never know the true power gain achieved by these mods alone. Only the Racechip itself. I will be using Shell VPower 98 fuel. It will be interesting to compare our final results.

I’m going to hold you to it! It’ll be nice to compare.

Zek ,It will be interesting to see the gains yours will get ,as my Stinger GT is AWD , so I lose more WHP ,than Rwd but with your secondary cats deleted ,, make the exhaust flow faster , If you get a chance to do a few launches over the next week and, see if your goes in to limp mode for a bit , as my car will do this and go in to limp mode thing when pushed hard lol , I ask the advice of a tuner in the US and , he just said to reinstall the 2 cats because with the cats still on and just the Borla exhaust and in Race mode ,, no limp mode lol ,, but I am leaving it the way I have all the same lol

Change of plans.

I shipped my RaceChip GTS to RaceChip with an estimated delivery of 5/20. It has been sitting in Customs at Germany waiting for clearance instructions from the importer, RaceChip, since 5/17. I’ve reaches out to RaceChip multiple times through email and haven’t gotten adequate responses. I called FedEx and their hands are tied as there is something that RaceChip needs to do to complete the delivery process.

I reached out to RaceChip and told them that I’d buy another GTS just to have in time for my scheduled install and dyno appointment on 5/30 and they could refund the money once the shipment clears customs and is delivered. They said they wouldn’t be able to accommodate that request.

So instead of potentially missing out on my install and dyno day in addition to losing my deposit for the dyno, I just placed an order for the jb4. I know it’ll be here in time and I can proceed as planned.

I’ve used the jb4 in my N55 335i and it was great. I’m sure it’ll be great for the Stinger as well.

As for the RaceChip, I’ll sell it whenever RaceChip reprograms it and returns it to me as I’ll have no need for it.

Let this be a lesson. RaceChip offers a 30 day money back guarantee but you might want to check to see if 2 week customs delays due to nonresponse count towards those 30 days. Additionally, if you ever need to send something back to them to be reprogrammed you might want to expect a 4 week turnaround time. Lastly, the support is practically nonexistent. I emailed both the sales and support addresses with the same horrendous turn times and as far as calling, you can forget about that!

Bummer dude. From everything I've read you'll be happier with the jb4 anyway so maybe itll end up being a good thing. In for jb4 dyno results
I will be doing a Dyno with my RS Chip this coming Sunday, I will report my findings:)

RaceChip made arrangements to receive the FedEx package today. They reprogrammed the GTS and set it back via UPS today but failed to include a commercial invoice on the package so it's held up once again. Glad I bought the JB4 since it's certain the RaceChip won't be delivered before Thursday given the most recent delay.

So, Arnie, it looks as though your Max HP is up nearly 20 hp, but Max torque is down about 50 lbft. Have you changed any modifications between the runs? Or was it simply a matter of re-testing? I think you may have previously explained this in a different thread, but I wasn't able to find it after a quick look. Any idea what's up with the odd spike at redline on Run #1?

yes Crisis , I did make a few changes from last time and, I added the mid pipes (cat deletes) to my Borla and a new Ultimate performance Intercooler to my Stinger GT , my goal was to hit over 350 whp on this Dyno Com unit and, thank goodness it did and they were higher on the Rev line as well for the 2 pulls :),
so it was just retesting for the most part :) I think the ECM may have something going on but I would like to try a flash on the ECM , to get a more balanced power curve !! THe owner stated that the Dyno Jets about 15% higher then a Dyno Com , and the both Dynos here in this area I live are using a Dyno Com , Dyno which I have now run on both and they read close to a Mustang Dyno ,so I was told !!

Glad I went with JB4. RaceChip still hasn't delivered the reprogrammed GTS that I sent back over 2 weeks ago. The JB4 was installed and the dyno sessions went as planned. See JB4 Dyno Day

Ecko04, great numbers ,better than mine for sure :) I never tried e85 as I did my runs off Chevron 94 with and added 450 mils of Boostane to my tank of pump gas to make sure I had at least a solid 94 octane, and tbh I know nothing on how e85 would work but you did very well in my humble opinion:)

I had Boostane as well but from everything I read, it contains MMT that deteriorates components faster and kills spark plugs. Granted, I’m sure I would’ve been fine for the 1 time I used it on the dyno but there was an E85 station on the way to the dyno facility. I swung by Walmart, picked up a 5 gallon jerrycan and just took the E85. I left the Boostane at the house so no one was confused that it wasn’t to be used.

I’m very pleased with my results. I’ve been going to the same performance shop since 2008 and they’ve treated me fantastic. The dyno technician knows me by name. It’s the 3rd car I’ve had on their dyno and it also performed the best with the fewest amount of mods. Today alone tells me that perhaps aside from a larger intercooler to reduce IAT, I’m pretty satisfied with what KIA gave us right out the box.

I never heard that Boostane hurts the engine or plugs before but for sure , this good to know ! This is what makes this site so awesome as we all share our knowledge and experiences about our Stinger s with in the community:) thx for sharing:)

Boostane Premium Fuel Additive review

https://www.stingerforum.org/threads/octane-boost.990/

Boostane is fine to use in moderation, say for track days, but I wouldn’t run it each time I filled up. I’ll have to find something g to do with the 2 bottles that I have since E85 is within 5 mins of my house.

I use only 500
Milliliter s of Boostane per tank and ,I only have 12700 k on the car so far but it is running well so far and, still have two 32 oz cans still at home after that is to be used up and I may just stick to Lucas octane booster lol

I’m sure you’ll be fine. It’s the MMT that boosts/stabilizes the octane regardless of brand. Check what’s in the can of whatever you choose to use. You can have mine if you want it!

Thanks I am good for now ,but I will check and see what levels hurt the plugs and the gas here they say is not good and not sure the major reasons are for our gas to be crappie, maybe it is not used up fast enough maybe then it get sour or gets destabilize from sitting to long :)
