Drag/Acceleration Mods to improve ¼ mile times and unofficial track thread

Guys as promised BMS WMI install video. This is Part 1, I will b uploading the other 4 parts thru the day. This is a step to step by step guide video for those interested in saving money and doing the install yourself.

@Terry@BMS Thank you for your support!

Awesome!

Your welcome!

I really appreciate all the help you gave me and the free clips that I broke.

Quick update changing new plugs next week and then will get a chance to try wmi. Will probably hit the track again in mid June.

Are different plugs required to run WMI, other than the DENSO or HK upgrade needed for JB4?

What do you think Map 2 JB4, Plugs, and BMS intakes will do in a 1/4 mile?

Are you afraid going back to wmi will fry more plugs?

Not sure about the benefits of the larger throttle body but the AFRs won't change. Its a closed loop system so the car reads exhaust and continually adjusts to try to hit the AFR target.

2018+ Stinger 3.3 Turbo Big Bore Throttle Body

Tonka, or terry, Can your piggyback or ecu account for a larger throttle body and increase in AFR.. Will this do anything or is it just a gimmick?

Never tried it but don't think the throttle body is a restriction in the system. Seems like a waste of energy to me but open to seeing someone do before/after dyno and track testing.

I know 2 of my plugs went bad with wmi. The plugs I had were denso 1 step colder and I am now upgrading to denso 2 step colder.

I know that you should definitely run aftermarket plugs if you have a jb4 or wmi. If you get wmi I would recommend the 2 step colder.

I personally have not been able to test the wmi yet since I had my issue. Once I install my new plugs I can give you better feedback on my experience.

I am not sure if other have had issues with plugs. I am speaking from my experience.

Anywhere between 12.3 and 12.6. Depending on your launch and what fuel you run. If you awd traction should not be an issue. Make sure you use launch control and use the 93 octane if avalaible. If you are RWD lower you tires psi and remove the spare tire.

Not afraid, just want to be careful.

Since I have 2 oem plugs and 4 plugs that are denso 1 step colder. I don’t want to push the car with different plugs. I want to wait until I get my new plugs and swap them all out. Then I will push the car on wmi. I will test and send logs to Terry to review to make sure everything looks good.

The good news is ever since I changed the 2 plugs the car has been running fine. So my coil packs are good.

AWD. Ever since the intakes my car has been osculating due to the wastegate duty cycles no catching up with the air load. I am hoping it works itself out with the ECU or might just have to live with it. Likely hurting more performance than gaining at the moment.

I am no Stinger guru but you should not be having does issues.

If you are having a wastegate issue you need to take to the dealer. I don't see how intakes would cause such issue. I never heard of anyone having issues with intakes.

I suspect the oscillations were always there but the intake lets you hear them. Mine does the same at part throttle and still rips.

Exactly! About 20-25% throttle it oscillates but more or less than that, it's smooth as silk. It's still fast as hell, but wondering if it was hurting it.

Mine seems to oscillate at 50-70% throttle. Normal mild driving or WOT is fine. I don't worry to much about it. Plus I'm usually going slow or really fast. :)

Did the spark plugs change today with Denso IKH27. Fixed the misfire issue. Car is running fine and no coil pack damage. I will push the car to its limits to make sure the plugs are doing there job.
