Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

Here is an 11.89 @ 117.5 during the Import Face Off a couple weeks back. This is my 3rd fastest run but the fastest I have on video. Also ran the 11.86 this day.

______________________________
Ran a best of 13.19 @ ~107MPH tonight, launch control, JB4 Map 2, DIY intakes in lower intake boxes, Petro Canada 94 octane, tires @ about 34-35PSI, nothing else notable.

DA was about 2900ft today. IAT was pretty high on the best run, about 113F average over the run. I'm wondering if a colder IAT would have gotten me 12's? I noticed one run the the next, a 40F jump in IAT seem to add 0.4s to my 1/4 time. This car is pretty sensitive to air temps and performance?

Also, guys running JB4, compared to stock, are you feeling a bit of throttle cut between gear changes? It's rather noticeable on mine, seems to my almost non-existent when stock.

EXACTLY ! Ive taken the Stinger to the drags three times and my best run is always the first one....never fails...and that was in cooler weather last month... 60/70 degrees is fairly nice, but now the 80/85 temps have hurt the times....:)

I'm going to need to fanagle heat shields into my DIY setup or look at a proper aftermarket solution. Sitting in the staging lanes, just watching the temps rise...killing me. Not to mention everyone was breaking down tonight, so a lot of time sitting there heating up the engine bay. But damn the open intakes sound good.

At the track my starting iats are typically 115-140. 20 degrees adds a tenth from what I've seen.
You may be getting more variation on runs with the throttle cut shifts as the shift time probably varies run to run.
Throttle cutting on shifts w jb4 is common.

Repost as there have been no new times for a while. We still have the #15 spot open. Raise your hand if you have a high 12.2.

Here are the top 15 track times as of May 9th, 2019.

Anyone have any good new mods or track days coming up? I'm going next Wednesday or Friday to see what I can run with all 4 cats on the car. (SSR MP is off, stock MP back on for now) Hoping to still get into the 11.8s. Should be close.

13.19 isn't good enough for #15? lol

Is there a high-flow solution cat that passes 49 state inspection?

My state (Wa) is stopping inspections in 2020 and even when they did they only plugged into the OBD and if the ECU was happy you pass. Many years ago they did a sniff test. No visual inspection either.

I think it's the same in NJ. Might think about it soon.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ any one racing this week or weekend? @GetStung did you get out last week? I'm going this wed with stock mid pipes. Evening 70+ degrees so not expecting much more than a mid pipe base line and some grins.

sure did, ran 4. 12.04, 12.07, 12.14, and 12.15
Now I'm running into overboost issues. Boost is completely cutting out on the top end.
That may be as good as its gonna get as I just threw on the 20s which is gonna kill my already bad 60ft. Try again in a week or so.

Can we have a peak at what the logs look like with overboost? (graph or raw file)

Went to the track last night and ran 11.89, 11.90, 11.91, 11.92 at 116 to 117 MPH with all 4 cats on the car at low to mid 60s temps. Had several runs in the 12.0s in the low 70s temps with as high as 155 IATs. Major heat soak. But once things cooled off and the track started moving the times dropped. Still can't show that the midpipes drop any time. I did have some nice IATs (115) later in the night and got in 12 runs total!
Here is comparing last night with my previous outing with SSRs. Corrected there is no difference.

I never thought midpipes made much difference. I think primaries help but primarily on building torque faster for a quicker 60'. Once you're on good fuel I don't think there is much of a real world power difference.

Love that tork tune. Guy needs to move closer to NJ.
