Ok apparently the valve is tightened up in the preferred position and can't be twisted to another position once fitted. There is a plastic elbow piece that can be used. So u fit the valve at horizontal then use right angle piece to point flow down. Hopefully that piece won't get in way of scuff plate.

Well now i have had to take valve off as I am being sent the elbow piece. Will fit next oil change.

No car washing liquid is more gentle than hot, soft water. I'd love to see how that works on my Silky Silver.

Yes, yes, absolutely YES! I meant try the hot, soft water on ceramic; for comparisons. I've been washing my car for nigh on a year this way. It can only look more wonderful with ceramic coating.
