What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Spent the day in the hills with my daughter, giving her some coaching on performance driving in the Stinger. She's a great driver (and kid in general) - no accidents in 5 years with her Challenger - and really picked up what we were working on quickly. Of course, she couldn't stop talking about how different it is to drive hard like that compared to her Corvette and Challenger. She's an AWD believer. :)

I'll probably be buying her a day at a Skip Barber school for her 21st coming up..

Absolutely AWESOME story! Keep up the great work, Dad!

i installed my jonny tig intercooler puzzle kit.
it's a puzzle because there are no instructions and you will need to go to the store and buy 1/4" vacuum hose and a 1/4" to 3/16" adapter.
good news is that i got it all installed and it works with no leaks. bad news is that i messed up the drilling and was only able to use 2 of the 4 drilled holes, oh well.

Congratulations! That's odd that you needed to get vacuum hose, mine came with it and was a straight fit.
Also the drilling part for the IC support, can be challenging. I found it a lot easier to remove the crash bar and then drill the holes. Its only a couple of screws that need to be removed any way.

Thanks Rob.
the vacuum line ID is around 3/16", but of course it's metric so maybe a 4.5mm or 5mm.
The fitting on the jonny tig part is 1/4", no way i was stretching that hose over that barb which was even bigger.
the drilling - less that perfect layout and less than perfect execution.
my bad, i'll live with it.

You could get a silicone hose, 4mm in diameter, and install it. That's what I ended up doing for my BOV vacuum signal. No issues at all and the hose has plenty of wall left after the stretch.

Sounds great mate, any drone ?
Thanks. Some drone between 1700 and 2100rpm, not bad though. But that's subjective. My "not bad" may be the worst ever for the next person. I will say it passed the family test; wife gave approval, 8 year old said it wasnt too loud and 3 yr old fell asleep on a 30 min drive.

My wife goes shopping every now and then and always says to me don't you want anything. Naaa, I'm good. I just keep track of what she gets and how much of here pay she spends. So today I spent my pay for the week and bought the cquence slotted rotors, EBC yellow pads, CX Racing big intercooler and JB4 with fuel wires and wireless control. Going to have my own secondary pipes made at a local shop.

First proper wash, in how long?? What did you do about all that road salt?

I would hose it down at least once a week and the coin wash, and went through a touchless car wash twice, but this was the first hand wash with good quality soap and proper drying.

"Hose it down", okay, but the BOTTOM, what about the salt all over the undercarriage? Did the touchless wash have a chassis sprayer?

Nope, don’t believe it did. I steer clear of automatic washes unless it’s getting really grimey. With the mileage I do, I’m not too worried about the long term effects of our salty roads.
