Has anyone seen any Stingers in the wild?

An interesting sighting. I was going to the hospital to get a CT scan of my shoulder prior to having it replaced in May. About a mile from the hospital I sighted a beautiful yellow GT driven by a maybe 60+ year old woman with a man in the passenger seat. I followed and admired the car as it drove to the same parking area as I did. After parking, I went over to the couple and talked to them about their car. It was her car and her previous car was an Audi, which she said she loved. But, she also said that she liked the Stinger better! This was only the second stinger I've seen in my area (Palm Beach county, FL.) The other Stinger was a white one; certainly not as impressive as the yellow one. Furthermore, as we were talking she told me that the original paint on the car was lifting. Kia took the car back and completely refinished it, at a cost to Kia of about $7K to pay for rental cars and the refinishing job. Adding to this marvelous experience, was that Kia also gave the woman $5K, cash, for the inconvenience. Now, I ask, can you beat that?

I don't have my GT2 yet, but when my present lease is up in August, I will be getting one. Until then, I'm a lurking...

With the rarity of the yellow they could become collectors items.

Well just keep an eye out for mine then. You're bound to spot me on 270/495 eventually! Alternatively, I know the manager at Herson's Kia in Rockville bought the Yellow AWD base GT for himself after I said I only wanted RWD, and I've seen him up and down 355 too. Keep an eye out!

I saw a Ceramic Silver on 270 a couple weeks ago. Wonder if that was you. I know someone in Gaithersburg got one mid-2018 because I've seen him once or twice, so it could have been that one too.

We are becoming twins.

Saw another I think this morning was white. That makes 3 in a month.

17000 miles, 13 months and I had my first sighting of another Stinger(outside of the two out of state meet ups I went to) and it was on i85 somewhere in Ohio. It was a white gt. I passed him and waved but he didn't even turn his head.

Yeah, if you check the Yellow Stinger Discussion thread, and back a ways into the Paint Quality (formerly paint chipping) thread, you'll see the history of how Kia approached the Sunset Yellow issue as a group triple option: buyback, exchange for a different color, or keep, respray and get $5K cheque from Kia. I agree, you can't beat that.

I had all my windows down on the beltway coming home in this beautiful weather. I sure hope that's an old photo!

I'm at Blacktown Kia now and there's a yellow "demo" that just sold. They say it's the only one that was available in NSW. Was service managers drive and got repainted 3 times until he was entirely happy.

Here's an update on my previous post. The vehicle was delivered on Friday and was involved in an accident the same day. It was t-boned by another vehicle that failed to stop at a red light and is a total loss. This dealer has only sold 3 yellow one's and each has been totalled! The owner of the latest wants another yellow one but apparently there are none available.

Yesterday at 3.09pm on Great Western Hwy somewhere west of Blackheath heading West @Stinger GT SS and I saw a HCR GT as we were heading East.

That's really bizarre, it's like the yellow ones at that dealership are cursed. They are bright enough and stand out on the road . People running red lights are morons who have no consideration for other road users full stop.

My hubby whilst at work in his Tanker at Wallan BP saw a car carrier with 7 Stingers on board all yellow, heading to NSW.
In talking to my dealer today about written off "Yellows" i mentioned this sighting. Dealer believes they might have been a batch of repaints coming out of PPG factory as that's where most were sent for rectification.

The latest write off was so nice. It had been back 3 times until it was "right". It was also a slightly deeper yellow than original so you could say it was a one off. Such a shame. I can't begin to imagine how the owner must have felt.

Was that the service managers car? Didn't you say he insisted on the 3 resprays?

I don't know how my reply ended up in your quote @ShannonC

if you want a yellow car order one in Europe, it's still the only colour you don't need to pay extra
