The very first Stinger I saw in Sunset Yellow would have been in October 2017, it was dealership ordered, the sales manager told me he could order any combination he wanted, so I imagine it might still be one of a kind, and already sold, it had Red Nappa leather , which is not available for regular customers.

Local LEO pulled me over last night, had cruise control set on 36 mph in 35 zone, said he ran my plate and it came back no information. Gave him my license and registration and he ran again and said this time it came up--Think he wanted a closer look at a stinger

That's pretty interesting. Are they bringing Sunset Yellow back for the 2020 models or has yellow always been available in Australia for 2019? In the USA they only did the 400 limited ones then had the paint recall.

I remember when Kia did the autocross track in D.C. I was telling one of the reps about your one-of-a-kind yellow with red which was the only one he had heard of . But to be fair I think at the time of release everyone on these boards knew more about the Stinger than most Kia employees.

Cool. I figured having that yellow recall disaster might have put them off offering it but I guess if they recognized the issue and fixed it there was no reason to alter their paint offerings.
That's interesting for a number of reasons:
1. KIA website does not list yellow as an available colour
2. MY19 Features Brochure also does not list yellow
3. Vehicles destined for NSW are usually off-loaded at Port Botany or Port Kembla then the boat continues to Melbourne
I suspect they were probably old stock that couldn't be sold in Vic and were being shipped elsewhere, maybe even for a special event?
Your'e probably right, I haven't seen one yellow Stinger in real life and a rarity to see any where I live.
A friend at work yesterday advised she was behind a Kia, looked closely and realised it was a Stinger, she said " very nice, thought that was the car you keep talking about " @ShannonC
09.40am this morning, I just stepped out to my front porch, looked to my right and first car I see approaching, is this Hi Chroma Red StingerGT, what a nice way to start the day...
Another day another Stinger, Deep Chroma Blue DWH--- had the Stinger script, i only got close enough to see long female fingers with long nails. Saw Contintal tyres so i know its not a brand new one. James Ruse Drive Nth Parra/Northmead 5.10pm.
Yellow has been duscontinued at the same time as the US. When i checked the autotrader there was 23 for sale including 2 new unsold 2018 models.
You can bet the yellow ones @Flameangel husband saw were being sent to NSW to be sold i believe our market is the strongest in Australia. I would not be surprised if my dealer get some as it is the biggest selling Kia dealer in the country.
I might pop in there tomorrow for a chat.
Saw my first stinger other than mine and what was on the lots yesterday 4/1/2019 (not an April fools joke) only caught a glimpse of it was blue. I think I was in shock I finally saw the first one.
I've been looking out for stingers since last fall and have seen about 10 or so stingers since then. I've spotted every color except a yellow stinger and I live and commute around the DC/Maryland area. I finally bought a stinger last month, 19 ceramic silver/red interior GT1 awd and its been a dream come true.

Well just keep an eye out for mine then. You're bound to spot me on 270/495 eventually! Alternatively, I know the manager at Herson's Kia in Rockville bought the Yellow AWD base GT for himself after I said I only wanted RWD, and I've seen him up and down 355 too. Keep an eye out!

I saw a Ceramic Silver on 270 a couple weeks ago. Wonder if that was you. I know someone in Gaithersburg got one mid-2018 because I've seen him once or twice, so it could have been that one too.

No, no, no: "on the lots" don't count. You have to see "wild" Stingers away from the car sales lots. You can't even count another sold Stinger visiting there; otherwise I'd have eight sightings instead of seven, and the first sighting would have been back last spring instead of late summer, and would have been the Yellow that Jerry Seiner sold just before they sold mine: c. three months later I was there for some reason, and there was the Yellow, having been returned as a trade in; the owner's plates were still on it. But it wasn't a "wild" sighting, 'cause it was on Jerry Seiner's property. (These rools of this sighting game are very important, don't ya know: because otherwise we'd have "wild sightings" all over the place, even counting cars we've seen before, each time we see them; and forum members living in the same neighborhood could artificially bump their sighting "scores" by driving past each other and counting each time; I'm sure you can appreciate how this would be "cheating". )
