Pregnant Woman Stabbed Nearly 10 Times In Sunland Carjacking: Police

I sincerly hope that pregnant woman is going to fully recover from 8 stab wounds, and of course hope the unborn baby is safe from harm, don't know why the suspects hit a total of five cars, maybe the power was just too much too handle while making an escape driving the Stinger, thinking if it is a 2ltr turbo or 3.3ltr V6TT, looks like the front Kia badge has been replaced by the " E " badge ?

OMG, what is this world coming too, carjacking anyone is terrible but to stab a pregnant woman is reprehensible, I hope that the carjackers are caught quickly and feel the full weight of the law. Hope the lady makes a fast recovery and her unborn child will be ok as well.

I awoke to further news that the woman will be fine (I'm assuming this means the baby is safe, too, since local news would usually exploit the full horror of a story like this), and that three of the carjacking suspects have been apprehended. I hope they face a jury of Stinger owners and pregnant women.

But since I'm a morning news junky, I've now seen this story twice on the local news updates, and my heart sinks to my stomach every time I see a white Stinger in this condition.

Oh, YES!! That would be justice.

Animals. High on drugs no doubt. Mad at the world. And crappy drivers. They couldn't even control a 2.0L. They should be locked away for years, even for life. Attempted capital murder at the very least.

Since I started this, I thought I should post an update before I leave for the day, and this one seems pretty complete:

Good to hear that the neighborhood has rallied to the victim's aid, and I'm sure that our forum community is keeping fingers crossed, praying, whatever works for each of us, for a speedy and complete return to health for mom and baby.

Additionally, another station reports that the gang members who did this will be charged with attempted murder and carjacking, and I'm assuming, as is usual, there will be gang-related charges piled on, too. Given that there's tape from multiple surveillance cameras that caught most of what happened, let's hope it's an easy conviction.

This is heartbreaking, I really hope she and the baby pull through okay. Glad to see they caught these idiots and hopefully the jury will consider that it was an attack not only on the mother but the baby.

Yes that would be justice, don't know what USA laws are like but here in Australia, an unborn baby is not recognised basically as a life until it takes it's first breadth out of the womb. Some People are trying to change the law so a baby is recognised as a person not just as an " unborn foetus "

Do 2.0 LTR Stingers have the auto door locking ? my Optima has it, you only drive a few meters and all doors lock, I drive with my doors locked all the time. The car manual advised it was to prevent instances of carjacking. Maybe she had this mechanism disabled.
If people tried to carjack me, I think my instinctive reaction would be to floor the accelerator and it would be like " Outta the way, Idiots, I'm coming through ! ".....True justice would be letting her partner/husband and close relatives have five minutes with these low life scum, oh and they could take in a baseball bat or two.
Watched the news vid, looks like she had just pulled up to her house when they pounced so her car was obviously unlocked as she was going to get out.

Stingers have been in the news for being stolen from a dealership during a B&E, run over by a taxi, involved in a fatality accident, stuck up a tree after a drunken collision, hit on a showroom floor by a drunk driver, and after THREE were hit at a dealership by a driver that lost control. All of those were bad, but this story takes the cake.

Truly sickening, but at least she'll be ok and thankfully they caught the vermin.

If any person in any gang has you on their radar for any reason whatsoever, do not wait to be attacked before arming yourself; especially if you are a woman.

I have heard nothing to the contrary of what you propose, but I think it more likely was not a gang targetting this victim (who is a first grade teacher; a friend told me her husband is an automotive engineer), but just a random garden-variety carjacking gone wrong. Every year or so we hear news about gangs in SoCal setting up operations for stealing cars to take across the border to sell. Sorry, can you tell I've lived my whole life within blocks of one gang territory or another?

All I know for sure is that for a while at least I'll be reluctant to open my window when people come up and want to talk to me about my cool car, unless they look really, really safe!

What I can't get my head around is why injure, in this case stab this poor innocent pregnant woman, they could have easily just got her out of the car and drove off ? Possessions mean nothing , especially when your life is at risk, I love my Stinger , but my life is more valuable, and one of a kind.

It's not just the physical scars which will heal to a degree but will remain, but mental scars will run so much more deeper she will be affected by this for the rest of her life.

The trouble is 20/20 hindsight. She proves the point: go along with the predators and do everything they say, and they still stab you TEN F*N TIMES. No chance that I will ever meekly turn over my car or any other material possession, hoping that's all "they" will be satisfied with. Ad nauseam.
