I don't believe that. But like you, I also don't know that.

If the mother goes into some kind of physical decline that affects how the baby develops, that would be directly attributable to the attack. But if she bounces back and fights this and the baby develops normally, there is nothing to fear for the baby's mental health.

I wont get into a debate on this but I respectfully disagree ...........mental trauma suffered by a mother prior to giving birth can directly affect a fetus ...................

I agree with that. I just took what you said to mean that mental trauma in the mother would become mental trauma in the baby, which does not make sense. Women can abort when they suffer terrible shock, even if it is only bad news. It happens at any stage of a pregnancy. In late pregnancy, a bad shock can put a woman into labor.

Thanks for the article. I've become accustomed to being proven "mistaken, about a great, many, things." Oh, well.

But then I thought, "One hundred percent? I don't believe that either," and I found what I was looking for:

Oh yes. Coincidentally, I just left a thread where I addressed this very thing. "Control Freaks" are all about legislating away my options (individual liberties) to get a little "security", for my own good, of course. They can take their controlling ways to another universe. I want nothing to do with them.

Our fondest thoughts are with you during this difficult time, glad to hear the mom and baby are doing fine, pray for a speedy recovery physically, although mentally I can imagine will take longer, take care, keep us posted if you can.
