Has anyone seen any Stingers in the wild?

Well I'm getting mine around the same time period.....I'll retire in May and go from there. ..I want to see if digital dash cluster is added to the MY20 before I commit.....I started a whole thread on what you wrote about ....what other cars made your final list? Pretty cool to read....well keep in touch!

Good deal, Lawrence.

I agree, and not a wise decision by Kia not to bring the Gt here in Panthera metal but they did in Nz! I'd say it has cost them sales. I wonder if they've got wiser for the pending 2020 model?
If they do I'll cry but I need a car now and cant wait for September or so. Gunmetal Grey is about as sexy as any car can get IMHO. So much so, I may vinyl wrap mine yet, but I also love Silver.

Kia has done this color "prejudice" thing with the Stinger right from the beginning. I think that, given the prevalence of social media, it is a subtle marketing ploy: what they lose in sales of a color somewhere they more than make up for in Net presence as people talk about "why is Kia doing this"? Sort of a permutation of "negative press is better than no press".

Sighting number six; another Black, at exactly 5 PM. I'm on Center St in Midvale, waiting to turn left/north onto State St; the Stinger goes by across my front heading south on State. It wasn't very clean but it was still pretty. :P

I guess it still counts as in the wild despite being an organised drive so for the benefit of the non Australian members who aren’t likely to read our specific event thread, here’s a few pics from a very enjoyable day with all the colours of the Stinger rainbow. We had 16 Stingers in total, not a bad turnout.76C2D960-158C-411F-A5EB-248F8FB6FB6B.webp2EE58446-9C2E-4330-AC93-9C8931D9D0E0.webp06732F81-7631-496F-8317-51138BCD3A53.webpC54C0424-0656-48F9-869B-F43547F00D56.webp

Picture 2 - deep chroma blue on the right .. it looks for me wider than the other cars .. is it just my eyes ?

It’s just an optical illusion from the angle & shadows as this is the closest car to the camera, I can assure you it’s the same size as the rest of them.

it’s Funny how an angle and the color or a shadow can trick the eyes
Would feel like "ha.. I got more car then others"

Hm..I love the Blue i can’t help it ..absolutely in love with that color.

Maybe one day here in Germany there will be a meeting too ..

Right now I ever have seen it 2 times ..on a truck and on a stop light as I was walking out of my company

This week or next week mine will arrive too ..well I hope so..
Just another 1-2 weeks until I can get it then ..
I feel like a child that can’t wait for opening his Christmas gifts :D

Howdy the awesomobile is mine:D all true what has been said a of angles, shadows and illusions. Just to let you know the car is the only car that has been lowered.

Crossed a deep Chroma blue on the road leading to Palm Beach near Sydney. I was going the other way. Honked but didn't get a response. Anyone on here?

What a great turn out. Im amazed at the rarity of the sunset yellow, even in AUS, where it was offered as an option.

Agreed, it’s only the 2nd one I’ve ever seen outside of a dealership and the one in the picture is even rarer as it’s a 2.0L GT Line spec, which is the top level 2.0L variant here. The 2.0L aren’t very popular in Australia, most have the 3.3L and most of those are the top spec GT. Of the 16 Stingers on our run, only 2 of them were 2.0L, all the rest were 3.3L GTs. Yellow is no longer offered as a colour option in Australia. By far the most popular colours here are Snow White Pearl, Silky Silver, and Ceramic Grey. Which was also the case on our run. We covered ever colour but only had 2 Micro Blue, 2 Deep Chroma Blue, 1 Hichroma Red,1 Aurora Black and 1 Sunset Yellow.

Isn't that some kind of record? I haven't heard/read of a "swarm" being that big, not even the national get together last year. I think it had 14.

The lineup in the first two pics is two different lineups. Did you have people drive up and park, then drive off, and have others take their places?

A few were swapped around to give a better contrast.

I can tell you it would have been 18 Stingers but a Deep Chroma Blue GT & a Snow White Pearl GT bailed before we got to this Pub for lunch.

Not sure what the record is but it was a good turnout. Yes some of the cars in the first pic moved out so we could get the colours in and break up the white/silver/grey combo. Just parked them in the row behind which is why I threw in the last pic
