Hi guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself since I got my GT1 on Monday. After a pretty long car search, I decided on the Stinger after cross shopping it with a Giulia Ti Sport and 2013 Audi S6.

With the Giulia I fell in love with the lease deal versus the car, and with the S6 I realized I was biting off more than I could chew in terms of upkeep (60% chance of needing turbo replacement in next 10-20k which costs $13,000 out of pocket).

Coming from a 2011 Audi S4 (6M), I wanted something bigger, fast, AWD, attractive, and well built...although my Audi was reliable and pretty inexpensive to own, I wanted a warranty.

Anyway, ended up leasing versus buying as I only keep cars 3 years max. These lease like garbage, but I’d rather Kia take the gamble on the residual versus myself!

Anyway, here’s my first pics of my Stinger. Sorry for the terrible pictures - I bought it at night and been working non-stop since I bought it Monday.

Went with Ceramic Silver over Red with the GT1 Package and 19” wheels. My Stinger will be spending a decent amount of time in the mountains, so I’ll be getting some Blizzaks for the winter.

It’s a lease, so I’m not going to go crazy on the mods, but I already have an appointment for 20% tint, and badge work. Moreover, I have a Thule Rack on the way for my skis. May look into the Borla exhaust and sell/trade it at the end for a stock one.

It’s a lease, so I’m dying to find out how I did. I’d like to think of myself as a good negotiator, but it’s tricky with the residual on these.

MSRP: $48990
Incentives: $4100
Due at signing: first month payment
Monthly $540 ($500 pre-tax)
Term: 39
Miles: 10k

Anyway, looking forward to Stinger life!

Adam

Welcome to our stingerforum, and Congrats on the purchase of your Ceramic Silver Stinger GT1.

The T shifter may be a good reason to choose GT1. It can turn on manual mode and keep it after a stop. Plus you can use it to shift if you don't like paddles.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Welcome, and come back anytime. It would be nice to know where your snow is, i.e. where you are located.:)

Congrats! Other price ,any reason not to get GT2? Just curious
Literally came to price - the G2T was $50 more a month, and had the 18" with All-Seasons. I wanted the 19's with Summer tires, as I would be buying a winter set regardless. In hindsight, there are a few features on the GT2 I regret (seats), but it's a 3YR Test-drive, so I can't be too angry.

Located in Denver, CO. This car will rack up a majority of its miles along the i70W Corridor with a few set's of ski's on it's roof.

Snow tires. I would maybe try the canyons/mountains with A/S if I knew that "they" keep the roads cleared and salted religiously. Short of that, no way would I go up in the higher elevations on anything less than the best performance winter tires. It's actually illegal around here to go up the canyons without snow tires; on some days "they" post a chains required warning. It can get that bad.

I'll be getting a set of Blizzaks come October...it's too late in the season to buy winter tires, install them, then uninstall them in a month, and then pay for storage for the summer.

There was a snowstorm in Denver on Friday, and my 2-Mile commute had Uber/Lyft shared going for $20 for the trip. I drove in maybe .5" of snow on the Michelin Pilot Sports (dangerous, I know), and never exceeded 20MPH...wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it'd be. I'm just hoping that this car has the AWD-ability my S4 had with a winter set once we're on Blizzaks.

Buying a GT2 with the 18" tires makes no sense to me.

So there isn’t any logic in having 2 sets of tires for some people? Like 19” or 20” summers and a cheap set of winter tires? No reason at all?

It’s better to get the 18” OEM if you plan to have two sets since a lot of drivers want fancy 19” or 20” rims other than OEM (weight and or appearance). Who cares about fancy winter rims.

OK think about it... Stinger... GT2... performance... 37mph slower than a GT2 with 19" tires. And this is a factory ECU setting, buying 18" OEM you can replace them with whatever and it will still be slower.

The ball is in your court.

Wow. Just trying to understand you logic. You’ll fit in well here.

I had forgotten about the 18” ecu speed limiter.

God forbid.

You're welcome.

Beautiful color dude awesome choice, I test drive the S5 and nothing impressive over the Stinger plus will cost you 20-40% more depending on equipment. I leased too cuz Im getting the next gen Stinger or the next Genesis coupe sports car to come in the next few years.

I think, from what has been shared this winter on the forum, that you'll find the AWD very comfortable in the snow. My A/S Nitto Motivos take off with alacrity in snow. Cornering is adequate. Just don't be in a hurry. With winter tires on, AWD Stingers are equal to anything in sedans and superior to most. We are talking of course about snow that is not deep enough to bottom out on the low ground clearance.
