So I just purchased a 2018 2.0L Premium.
When I got the car, I purchased the Allstate extended warranty coverage (good for 10 years/100k). I'm likely to keep the car for 10 years, and only put about 8-10k/yr on the car, so it seems like a pretty good deal. Also, given that it's a first year model, I expect it to have some issues over time.
When I purchased the warranty, the dealer finance guy told me that I could cancel the warranty if I didn't use it. Given that the factory warranty is basically 5 years, I wouldn't really use the warranty until after year 5.
Does anyone know the process for cancelling the warranty if something happens like the car gets totaled in a few years, but before the factory warranty is up. I'm planning on calling the dealer to get the process in writing, but wanted to see if anyone here had experience.
