What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Oh, and my loan car is bloody filthy... Both inside and out. I took a video as I looked over the car with the reception guy just in case.
Probably a trade in. Blacktown have given me a demo both times, but not a Stinger.

I may have to rethink my Service options now

Sorry to hear your having to not only hand in your Stinger for a bumper respray, but to be treated in such a disrespected way, it's not acceptable, i'm hearing horror story after horror story about Kia service departments, and how they are treating their customers, who are our forum members, i am going to take my Stinger in for its one year service in March, i am going to video the car in the morning as evidence of no marks or scratches, the odometer reading, and will ask for a courtesy car, and a realistic time frame,, i might even just stay there to see if my Stinger sits there for two hours before even being worked on, these horror stories have got me all wound up..:mad::laugh::laugh::rofl::rofl:

My new front emblem just arrived from the US. Much better quality than the one I previously had on there. Very happy. Will pop round to the Smash Repair Centre later on my bike (will leave the filthy loan car at home lol) to get them to fit it after they finished respraying the bumper.

That looks great, what process did you use? A few passes with a finer grit each time? Did you tape off the other areas, or have any other tips?
I use a very harsh grit to get the rash out. Then 220 grit to get the rough sandpaper scratches out. And finish up with wet 2000 grit: make sure it is soaked at least ten minutes if you want it to be as pliable as possible, and use lots of water. I haven't masked off the surrounding areas, but that sure wouldn't hurt: because you can easily haze the clear coat of the surrounding areas if you're not careful: and the wet sandpaper doesn't bring the clear coat all the way back. To do that you'd have to use a buffing compound and polish everything back up. I'm not that OC. If it looks good c. five feet away, I'm not expecting any better from the real world of "cars at war". :D

What I have done in the past with the problems I had with my R8 and Porsche 981 is I call the headquarters of Audi and Porsche and let them help me, you will see how fast the dealer moves after a complaint. Talk to the Aussie Kia Headquarters and have a G'day mate!

Well you haven't had any problems with them though. They have been fine with you thus far haven't they?
Yes I know, but I’m sensing a change & last time there the vibe in the place was not good.

I did that already. They said unless it's a warranty issue they can't do anything. I have to deal with the dealership itself, which I've done.

Woow. Hopefully you get that resolved, you need probably to be more aggressive in stating what you want.

Fit sounds pretty danged aggressive to me!:D

I just rode out to Smash Repair Centre to drop off the new badge, and the Stinger is sitting there waiting for Trent to send them the service order, which they need before they can commence any work. That should have been ready when I dropped it off at 9am. 1pm and they are still waiting and the car is untouched. What a bunch of incompetent morons.

Don't laugh but as I was riding my bike in I thought "I wonder if Trent did something spiteful like pick his nose and wipe it somewhere inside my car when he drove it across". I'm going to be super paranoid now. :cautious:

well.. this is what I DID to it today :( ..... FML.

O

Oooh noooooooo!
yup..... devastated. So she's now in the shop getting repaired. $500+tax that i didn't have to spend. Eh shit happens. Can't wait to get her back though.

I guess that answers my question about whether the 2019 paint is any better than the 2018. I guess I'm leaving my badges on this one.
Yea you might as well leave it as is or have it done by someone who's have prior experience / professional. Strongly don't recommend a DIY rebadge.
