1. Please excuse typos in previous and future msgs. The 3.3l GT is top of the range here. I think the AU model may be almost the same as yours. Yellow is no longer available but there are still a few MY18's at dealers. Here's a link to our specs.

Mine rarely if ever come on automatically when parking after driving unless I’m reversing. If I’m going forward pulling into a spot I have to manually activate them. I pretty much always turn the cameras on and be guided by that, the sensors can be way too sensitiveAs i have a short narrow space and have to be guide into the garage by the wife i rely on her sight. But the sensors alway work and alarm rapidly when i get extremely close. Ive have never switched them off or new you could.
Yes that button is on my car too, but it is quicker, for me, to flick the shifter back & forth than to look or feel for the switch further back on the centre console.Rather than putting it in reverse and then drive to activate the sensors while trying to park, have either of you just considered hitting the button on the center console that activates the sensors? Not sure if the US and UK models have them but the Australian one does. It’s on the bottom left next to the camera button. I know the US don’t have the 360° camera, not sure about the UK, so not sure if you have the same button setup. Anyway it activates and deactivates the parking sensors. View attachment 19827
No inadvertent manual switching off. I've been quite specific on the issue. It's the same on both cars and had already been reported to Hyundai, to no avail. As you know they own KIA.My parking sensor switch stays on once turned on, and they always work. There is no sign of a universal Hyundai/Kia bug here. Maybe you are accidentally turning it off, or it varies by market/featureset.
They need to be switched on every time I believe. When you enter a closed space ensure you push that button all the time.
That was my point: I discovered that if you've turned the parking sensors off, they stay OFF. Restarting the car does not turn the parking sensors on by default. Odd, because the ISG is exactly the opposite: you have to physically turn the danged thing off each time you start up. (That is what proves its politically correct presence.) I discovered that turning the parking sensors ON leaves them ON each time you restart. ISG button light lit means it is off; parking sensors light lit means they are on. Of course, at some point you'll see that the ISG button says "OFF" on it, which means that in order to be actively "off" (according to the button), the light must be lit. And parking sensors button must be lit in order to indicate that the sensors are in fact on.Rather than putting it in reverse and then drive to activate the sensors while trying to park, have either of you just considered hitting the button on the center console that activates the sensors? Mine are on automatically on start up always make a noise front and rear when I reverse out of the garage, I don’t touch them, but when I park at the other end of the drive they don’t operate unless I manually turn them on. Totally different experience here. As @ScottE said, once on the sensors stay on. If I turn them off inadvertently, they stay off until I turn them back on; but if I shift into reverse, they will be on temporarily until I shut the engine off. If I want them on next time, I have to turn them on.Mine are on automatically on start up always make a noise front and rear when I reverse out of the garage, I don’t touch them, but when I park at the other end of the drive they don’t operate unless I manually turn them on. I put on sunglasses for the first time in Stinger and was shocked. HUD disappears.
maybe it's because of polarized lens?
I was thinking sunglasses would make it dimmer but not completely unreadable.
Just ran a forward/reverse test to be 100% sure.Im a bit stumped then my sensors are always on, ive never turned them off or on they just operate on.
Yes, because of polarized lens.
Drove home from work tonight, as always turn the cameras on as I’m pulling in so I can park in the garage. No activity from the sensors. When I reverse back out of the garage the sensors work on the front and back of the car. Now I’m starting to wonder if there’s a fault with my car because they don’t come on each time I turn on the cameraJust ran a forward/reverse test to be 100% sure.
Moving forward without camera - no reaction from sensors
Moving forward with camera - sensors active
Reversing - camera and sensors activate automatically. Turn off park assist and this deactivates sensors but cameras stay on.
