WOT on a turn from 0. What does your car do.

So tonight I was out having some fun just driving around. Took a turn from a stop at WOT trying to kick the backend out and burn a bit of rubber. Stability and traction control disabled moments before manually. Start spinning tires a bit and the backend starts to lose traction. Wide open throttle here. Car completely cuts throttle and I lose power for at least a second with the pedal to the floor. The f*ck? Ok.

Using JB4 Map2, maybe something is going wrong. Check my logs. Something I don't know about is definitely happening. Logs look crazy. Let's set her to map0 and test again. Make sure I turn off traction and stability control again. Same exact thing. Is there something I don't know about going on here? Is this harmful to the car? Anyone have any clue wtf is going on?

Maybe I'm dumb, but I've never had a sports car I couldn't burn a little rubber in. Is this the same for everyone else? Has anyone tried drifting this car a bit?

Only mods I have are densos gapped to .022 and a JB4 which I set to map0 for the test.

I complained about this several weeks ago. It certainly feels like TC/SC is not fully defeatable which is a real shame.

The temp outside was ~45 degrees and I did get the "Ice Warning". I wonder if that overrides your choices?

I don't think that it's temperature dependent. I've tried this in warmer weather with the same results. I think, once wheelspin and excessive yaw are detected, the nannies kick back in.

No way. DIdn't see exact speed but as you can see from the log, I barely even got going and it shut me down. I couldn't have been doing more than like 20.

EDIT: Discussed with GF and she agrees probably wasnt even 15.

It has a lot more give in Sport mode. I've been able to swing the ass around pretty easily, at least a few degrees. But yeah, it's more than a bit restrictive in any other mode

My experience indicates in 1 st gear it seems to have some bit of TC. For example when using launch control car with tc off limits wheel spin in 1st. Alternatively when in second I can hang tail out at will with tires a blaze. Car should be able to light tires in first gear from a start but I can’t do it.

The car may be moving at a speed much lower than 35 mph, but wheel speed sensors might be reading 35 mph or over which what the speedometer would display. In GM full-size pick up trucks, the stability control reactivates and cannot be turned off at a minimum speed of 35 mph; the stability control in my Stinger stays defeated at any speed but I have not tried to push the car beyond traction limits to see if it will be reactivated.

If you remember, I was having similar issues on launching. How long had you been driving for?

If my oil temp isn’t up it will kill power every dang time no matter what I do. It takes me a good 10 minutes to get it “perfect” and if it’s colder it’s taken almost 15 miles of driving.

Looks like DSC from tire spin to me (see how MPH ramps up quickly). You can disable the straight line traction but once turns are involved it does not have a disable option on this car sadly. Makes doing doughnuts difficult. =/

I was doing some lc tests with the ground a bit damp and was able to hang the ass end out by several feet but i was also going straight.
The too cold LC cut is certainly a pain in the ass. The other day was trying to do a few 0-60s to see how i like the denso plugs and started around 200 first run then temp dropped to 185 during the runs. And it was about 50 out. Weird

I started a thread about this a couple weeks ago. It seems like the nannies never full disable. I even find that I can sometimes get the car to step out more with the nannies on then when they are off. It seems inconsistent as to how and when they want to step in and take over.

All the vehicles i have bought in the last ten years have safeguards in place to limit wheel spin based on steering wheel angle.... Unless that sensor is defeated you will always see this.

It is frustrating but part of having a smart vehicle

Interesting, I only tried the day I got the car when it was all stock. Will have to give it a go again next time I'm in a large parking lot.

This seems likely. I have done this before and this hasn't happened, but I never just floored it out of the gate, always kind of feathered it. Weird that Rob says he can do donuts though. I'm gonna do more testing when I get time
